I think the good reviews for this place is mainly because of the event that happens every begin of the month, where you can drink sake as much as you can. In a Monday evening, our waiting time was 20 minutes go get a table, and you have to ring the bell or they will not come to serve you.... More

Stopped here for lunch while wandering Shinagawa one Sunday. Friendly and welcoming, and the optional English language menu was a nice touch. Super fresh and prepared right in front of you, at reasonable prices as well. A very pleasant surprise!

Most disappointing experience I've ever had in a restaurant in Japan. The food was barely OK and expensive for what you can have usually (average of 4500yen per person). The service was the worst I've had, we couldn't choose different "courses" (for some reason), just one type for the whole table, which wasn't notified anywhere. We specified a "nabe" for... More

It locates near the Shinagawa Station and Shinagawa Price Hotel. When you get into this place, at first you can find a lot of different souvenirs including Japanese Sake from Akita Prefecture. Akita Prefecture is located north part of Japan, facing the Sea of Japan. There are many famous and traditional local cuisines over there. You can find the Japanese... More

Akita prefecture is about 600km away in north from Tokyo. But, we could enjoy excellent Akita cuisine here. Akita is famous for a pretty woman and Sake, Japanese rice wine. I believe this restaurant is the best place tasting Japanese Sake for foreign beginners. Hatahata fish is also recommended. You were so lucky if you could make a reservation here... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
