On a side street, on a busy Sunday afternoon, my crew of five stumbled upon The Sad Café in an alley. It will take you right back to the 80s. Vinyl records on the wall, an impressive bobble head collection... and the first time I tried a Moscow Mule. We had a tiny language barrier (it seems man dishes come... More

Dived in as we were desperate for a beer. Lovely place. Really aimed at much younger people than us. Full of comic book, bobble head etc memorabilia. Music playing was all sing along 80's. Had nachos and fries to accompany beers. Very pleasant beer stop.

This place is something different. Don't come looking here for a fine dining experience, don't expect high class food. Instead, come here to grab a bite while you look around the place and spot one piece of nostalgia after the other. The place is literally filled with memorabilia from movies and pop culture. You can never see it all. I... More

Great place! Staff very welcoming and great at speaking English. Me and my wife both got a decent steak with rice, fries and soup. Only came to about 1000 odd yen which seems pretty good since half a pint can sometimes be 900 odd! Decor is great, especially if you like your 80s garb, plus they had the goonies playing... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
