I was in Tokyo for a week and ate here 4 times. There is always a wait because the ramen is that good. The way you order is thru a "vending" machine and it gives you ticket that you'll give the staff on how you want your noodles. I love ramen and this is seriously the best ramen I have... More

While I was in Tokyo, I went to Ichiran Ramen 4 times! The ramen is some of the best I have ever had. It is so easy and convenient. I am still craving Ichiran everyday. If you like spicy I definitely recommend choosing 3-4 times the spice level, as the normal spice level is pretty mild. I also recommend getting... More

You have to eat here! What a cool place. We waited in line outside until we approached the machine for ordering. Each item also had an English translation. We pressed the buttons for the items we wanted (and beer!) and then headed inside. There is a light up sign which shows you the open seats called The Direction Board of... More

This unusual destination included one menu item and a 45 minute wait, to be escorted to your solitary noodle scoffing booth. Despite the wait and limited menu the noodles were delicious and well worth the time spent in line

Okay there aren't directions in English so this what you do. Go to the vending machine, choose what you like and you'll have a ticket for each item you order. You'll most like stand in line and the host will hand you another form to fill out that asks how soft you want your noodles, how spicy, etc. fill that... More

We waited maybe 20 minutes to be seated in this popular ramen joint. Mind you it only has 21 seats. The menu is limited but who cares when your handle on the Japanese language is nill. Ordering is via a ticket machine. After being ushered inside you will find that seatingarranged in single booths that seperate you from your neighbour... More

Very unique experience, no language barrier as you get to order from the menu before you are seated. you can always top up more noodles if the meal wasn't enough. we opted to add more pork instead :) you can raise the divider between you and your party so you don't have to feel isolated when eating.

Absolutely heavenly and never had ramen that tasted like this. The broth is so tasty and unique. The signature pork slices are so yum and melty. Since I was a solo traveller, I also ate in a 'personal cubicle' which was such a noble and fun experience. Really lives up to its repuation! Had some difficulty finding the place though.

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
