You know you are in the right place when all other other customers are local. Simply delicious. You just stand at the counter surrounding the chefs and point to what you want if you can't speak japanese like me. Each other comes in twos. Simple fuss free meals.

A few years ago, my family & I passed by this small sushi bar that accommodates up to 15 customers -standing at the bar. No stools to sit on, hence the name. Big choices of sushi varieties (also as sashimi if you have enough of the rice) that are freshly made to order in a jiffy by 3 chefs behind... More

Small, interactive, fun place that offers excellent and fresh hand-made sushi. Must visit when in Tokyo - there are several of them. Standing only!!

My sisters and I passed by this place on our way to our hotel and we noticed that it's popular amongst the salary men and locals. There's even a queue outside. We managed to get a spot at around 9pm and decided to try out their sushi. It was amazing. Fuss free. No frills. Just good quality sushi. The chefs... More

Simply - cheap, fresh and delicious sushi. We tried many different types of raw fish. It averaged 100 Yen per piece. A sushi chain. To me was better than what I had at Tsukiji market for less than half the price. Only wish they had more branches on the East side of Tokyo where we were staying.

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
