This restaurant is a real Japanese experience. While the food is Korean (and exceptionally good), the clientele is predominantly young Japanese professionals and the mood is lively and distinctively local. Westerners are relatively rare. They speak sufficient English, have English menus and are genuinely happy to see Western diners but this is a true Tokyo place with not a hint... More

cute restaurant located in a small lateral street near to shinokubu station. There haven't an english menu, therefore must let inspire from photographs that fortunately in japanese menu never lack. The result is been an amusing experience that there has brought to tastes new and appetizing food. We advice it.

It had been a while since I was in the area but friends from Taiwan wanted to eat meat and we were near Shinjuku so there we went. The staff is overworked but if you talk with them they will be very kind to you. Watch how much you order because you're going to get a lot. I'll go back,... More

This was located a short walk from my hotel. As far as i could tell, none of the wait staff could speak a word of english. Fortunately the majority of the menu has pictures. I chose a curry(for 2 persons) but easily consumed the lot by myself after a long plane ride. I have no idea what it was but... More

One of the best Korean meat restaurant A lot of choice from the menu. Waiting time during peak hours but moving fast enough The perfect place for those who love grilled meat with a nice fresh beer!!! Do not wear your latest cashmere sweatshirt as it will smell grilled meat for a few days We just love that place

We are vegetarians so ordering food from the Japanese menu was not easy but we had a lovely waiter with a good English. Food arrived fast and all the staff were polite. Food was interesting - I liked it more than my girl but it's worth a shot.

Ondoru is located few minutes by walking from Shin-Okubo station. It is basement-restaurant, very lovely place with brick walls. Food is fantastic! Menu was in Japanese and in Korean, but staff was very helpful with our food orders and all service. We ordered Korean barbecue and it was great fun to grill it on your own table.

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
