Very fresh sushi, friendly staff, very good price to quality relation. Avoid the wine which is local and not very good. Great tuna.

Found Tsukijisushisen with Trip Advisor and I'm glad we stopped for lunch. I stuck with the crab meat California roll and my friend was more adventurous trying different stuff including horse. Good atmosphere and fair prices made it a winner.

Enjoyed our meal here. California roll set was 1000 yen, nigiri sets start at about 2000 yen. Sushi was tasty and the restaurant was buzzing. Busy in the front bit at the sushi bar; there is also booth seating in the back if you are dining as a couple.

I took a break from the Sumo tournament to have lunch at the Tsujiki market, figuring I would have no trouble finding a good sushi restaurant, and I did. The entire market has many different restaurants and styles of food. I wanted sushi and chose Tsukijisushisen because they had a special of 'Very Best Nigiri' for 2310Y that had great... More

After visiting the Fishmarket, we made a break with sushi and a hot tea. Good quality and normal prices. Was a little cold, because of opening and closing the door. Would go again !

Much better than the tourist restaurants in the mall. Huge selection, very fresh, reasonable prices. We gorged ourselves for $40 each. Fatty tuna is awesome. Also try the lightly toasted tuna, salmon and other items.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighbourhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
