About
Our restaurant - tavern is a family business operating since 1998. Located on the main street of the village Kastraki. The traditional cuisine with homemade dishes and good local wine, is combined with views of the rocks of Meteora, and with our pleasant service. The place is comfortable studied in every detail, suitable for both winter and summer your culinary outings. We always use fresh and natural ingredients in our kitchen, meats and vegetables from our village.

Super place before or after visiting the Meteora site. It's clean, it's friendly, it's homemade authentic local food. Stefano (the owner or owner's son) was so kind, gentle, patient and very polite. The site itself is nicely shaded, the tables with their tablecloths are inviting, there is parking in front.
The last and the best, we were offered a very tasty dessert
They speak English and there is wifi.

We come for dinner and order a litre of white for €6, for a starter feta with olive oil and bread, €3.50, the main course is moussaka, €7.50 and imam, a meatless dish of eggplant, zucchini, peppers and onions in fresh tomato sauce, €6 . Tasty. Then the owner brings apple pieces in honey as a dessert on the house, and we also order Greek coffee, 2€. Total we pay 23€.

Delicious food, friendly hosts who took good care of us and gave good advice and recommendations. The meat is roasted on charcoal right next to the guests and smells delicious. We will be happy to come back

Good location and a nice air-y place. The restrooms were very clean and the staff was attentive at all times. The food was decent, but they didn’t seem to even know what juices they had on the menu when trying to order some of them.

Great for gluten free. Excellent understanding of needs and hand made chips were fried in gluten free fryer. Staff said almost anything can be made fresh gluten free. Meat and salads fantastic! Great service and friendly helpful staff. Lamb chops were good.

I had a wonderful experience at Taverna Stefanos located near Kastraki center. The traditional dishes were delicious and also, the prices very reasonable. I would highly recommend Taverna Stefanos to anyone looking for authentic Greek cuisine at affordable prices.

Nice, laid back atmosphere and very good food. We had tzaziki, which was great- perfect combination of fresh (from the yoghurt and cucumbers) and garlicky. We then had meatballs and sausages that came each with a portion of delicious french fries. All in all a nice experience!

Don’t miss this excellent restaurant !! Facing the rocks , in a family-style place, with good vibe and amazing service, the food is fresh, tasty, all done on spot while you place an order. Meat (1kg of lamb ribs) was superb as well as first dished and the cadaif. Highly recommended!!!

Small, family run restaurant with a big grill where you can see how the meat gets cooked. Good variety of dishes in the menu, big portions, good taste. We tried saganaki, stuffed tomato, pork souvlaki, moussaka. All good. Nice treat at the end, we were given a mini ice cream for free which is exactly what we needed to end this good meal. We will come back.

The first and foremost reason to go here is the grilled meat . The meat is prepared on a wood fired grill by a chef who is perfectly mastering the entire process …. the result may appear simple but it is perfect ! Also the cooked food is delicious….
A small local selection of wine is perfectly complementing the food .
Last but not least a nice , warn family atmosphere!

Eat here for a fabulous dining experience. Stevanos was a short walk from our hotel in the village of Kastraki. The restaurant has many options for vegetarian. We went to this restaurant twice and each time, the quality of the vegetables and the meat skewers were impeccable. They cook the meat to order. We had the grilled pork, eggplant, greek salad, chicken skewers and tzatziki. All of which was delicious. Very good service. Excellent food.

Tavern Stefanos is a small country bistro, beautifully located in the village of Kastraki, overlooking some monasteries. We ate very good sausages, stuffed peppers, cabbage salad and beans. Everything was beyond expectations. The house wine is also good.

We are in the area visiting the monastery and found this tavern by walking around town. We sat outside with an amazing view of the mountains. We had the lamb chops and moussaka. Stefanos was a wonderful host. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the ambiance. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t crowded. The experience here is different than what you get in Athens. We were given Greek halva for dessert. We loved it too. Try the Tsipouro with anis. It’s got some “kick”.

Top adress around meteora. Traditional food, nice peoples. First a little distanced then full on greek style. Moussaka was thd best in greece, made by the old woman. More typical you can't get, try the stuffed eggplant. Top view to the meteora-rocks. After a heavy walk the best powerfilling food. Love to come again

We visited in the early evening, found a cool table inside as the weather was very hot outside. We were greeted by a wonderful family on arrival who prepared souvlakia, horiatiki salata and potatoes for us.
Highly recommend.
