Friendly staff, nice food. We stayed nearby and visited the restaurant on 2 consecutive evenings. The local ale is good too.

One of the best places we dined on our tour of the UK, the staff is very friendly and the ambience is just perfect. The building itself is picture perfect and they are dog-friendly which the locals and ourselves appreciate. Great food too...

Good range of choice on menu - value for money. Pleasant atmosphere. Popular venue, even on a week- night.

We chose this place to meet up with family. I have a tricky sensitivity to rapeseed oil so always phone ahead. I was really encouraged by the response received and wasn't disappointed. A really attractive building with lovely gardens by the river. The bar was...More

This pub has a massive dog and very friendly manager. Staff were very friendly and professional - the Sunday roast is home cooked and there is a lot of it. Starters and desserts are sublime. All in all I would go back and can whole...More

Worst meal ever. Steak was More gristle than meat, rare not medium. Expected the best steak at £26.50. The landlord was totally rude, confrontational, threatening & unhelpful when we tried to negotiate the bill. Asked for a pint of Guinness it was out of a...More

We took a random turn looking for somewhere nice and found this lovely place. We sat in the garden for a little while before our meal and what a beautiful garden, we sat under some lovely big willows by a little river with the sound...More

Popped in at random and were delighted by our findings. Good selection of food and lunchtime sandwich selection. Staff 1st class and attentive. Food arrived quickly. Of reasonable portion size and price. What more can you ask for?

Delicious food, guest beers and lovely garden to in. The children loved to river and the fish pond in fact they asked to go back for a second visit. They especially loved the enormous, gentle giant that was the St Bernard which the landlord brought...More

Following reopening the pub has now been restored to its former glory of many years ago before closure. A complete and thorough tasteful refurbishment inside and out retaining the original character of the building and returning it to its rightful place as the village pub. The wonderfull but neglected garden is now a delight for all featuring fabulous flower displays, a well stocked waterfall fed pond leading down to the mill stream at the bottom of the garden. A quintessential english pub with local beers, renowned wines and spirits and of course food produced from fresh local produce and all prepared to order - a rarity in todays world.
