Took the opportunity to check out The Rising Sun on a recent trip to the UK. Thought about trying the Olde Bell just up the road, however when I telephoned they seemed rather disinterested in my business. So the Rising Sun was the go...... Not...More

Lovely pub in a great setting, there was parking available in their car park-otherwise you can park on the street. We went on a sunny Saturday, the garden was pretty full but we managed to get a nice table in the sun! The pub is...More

I am aware that the pub has undertaken new management within the last week or so. We were so excited to go and meet the new team and to see what was happening with the new regime. However, it was truly dreadful. There was no...More

We visited on the August Bank Holiday whilst staying at the rather disappointing and relatively empty Olde Bell down the road. A complete contrast! This place was packed to the rafters with locals and visitors enjoying live music and plenty of drinks. Apparently the current...More

Found The Rising Sun by accident. Had planned to have lunch at The Olde Bell in Hurley but they only had a restricted summer menu and there was a large wedding party in progress so we went down the road to the Rising Sun where...More

Kitchen closed they day we went but the vibe was cool and good ales! Wish we'd have had more time in Hurley to come back by.

Three generations enjoyed this pub for an early evening meal. Food was generous and tasty - tex mex burger, hunts mans chicken, rump steak, burrito and quesadilla were all very satisfying and service was friendly and very quick. Good selection of local beers too. Parking...More

Had dinner here on Saturday. Food and service good but pub crowded with not much room. Service very efficient.

Clean, warm, cosy, friendly, relaxing , set in the beautiful old village of Hurley. The village dates back to 700 ad and is recorded in the Domesday, the old church is still standing which was once the nave to the old Priory until 1536 when Henry Vlll dissolved the Monasteries. The River Thames is just 4 min walk from the Rising Sun. Built around 1830 the pub is a big favorite with walkers, ramblers, boating people alike. There is a fantastic caravan and camping site just down the road, which is among the top 5 sites in the UK for static, mobile and camping. We have a village shop, a church and a small B&B. The village is heaving in the summer months with tourists enjoying the camping and picnic areas right on the River Thames.Soft comfortable chairs and settees, log fire for the cold winter months. Home cooked and prepared traditional pub food plus specials, 4 ever changing real ales from local brewer's and a selection of lagers.
