Went to the Wheatsheaf with my husband last night to celebrate Valentine's Day. My husband had booked a table there as it was where we had our first date nine years ago. The interior had changed since we last went - for the better. There is a very nice cosy feel to this place and the staff contribute to this... More

Music night last Friday of the month, great Rock Band The Wednesdays. We had a first class meal with excellent service, the sirloin steak was very good. Reasonable price drinks will be back again soon.

Hi, Thank you for your fab feedback. The Wednesday's are a brilliant band and are getting a good following in Croston. We shall have them on more often this year, and what I really like about this band is it attracts everyone from every age group. I've seen people dancing to the same songs, some of them look in their... More

A nice pub with a range is craft beers Shame no traditional bitter good atmosphere nice and warm the food looked good but wanted to try Indian across the road which didn't disappoint Not a great lover of dogs in pubs but do accept that in the country it seams to be the norm but owners don't appreciate a dog... Hi, Thank you for your visit and for taking the time to give us a 5* rating. We try and put a good variety of cask beers on to suit all tastes so there is a good variety between blonde, dark and ruby beers and also to ensure they are of different strengths. For those that do not want to... More

The ambiance and the place is fine. I had a hamburger that was not eatable (bacon not cooked)! My wife had the goat cheese salad and she loved it.

Hi thank you for your feedback. I was sorry to hear that the bacon was not crispy enough for you and that it ruined your whole burger. We get great feedback on our burgers as they come from a very highly rated butcher in the local area. I'm sure given the opportunity this could have been easily rectified at the... More

We haven't eaten here for over 2 years but after seeing and being extremely impressed by the current manager and the way he handles every review on trip advisor in such a professional manner decided to give it a go. The place is friendly with great front of house staff. Service was faultless. Food fresh and delicious and came out... More

This beautiful pub is set in the picturesque village of Croston and we have been here a couple of times en-route to Southport. I have to say that the service is warm and friendly and the food is all home-cooked from fresh and is beautiful. I have enjoyed a steak dinner here as well as a game pie. The flavours... More

Made the mistake of visiting on Tuesday night. Quiz night! Far to loud, even when sat out of the way. Advice being cheap, take it or leave it, "we all don't want to join in your quiz". Shame beer was very good.

Hi, I'm sorry that our weekly quiz was not to your liking. I appreciate that it is not to everyone's taste but over the last 5 years it now has quite a loyal following. I was recommended this place from friends so decided to try it out, I drove a fair few miles on a chilly Monday and really glad I did. Parking is tight around but I got a space. I walked and was greeted by a friendly lady, I asked for a table for lunch and was offered the bar area or... More
