My first impressions of salumeria was is this a restaurant, cafe or deli. I have been to salvos the restaurant next door for many years and yes this well known family Italian is hard to beat. However, I had never ventured next door partly because the parking is so atrocious for a big car. Today however I agreed to meet... More

During the month of April, Salvo's Salumeria are holding a series of Themed Evenings. They are normally heavily oversubscribed and my wife and I we're lucky enough to bag one of the last tables for two. The seven course menu was OUTSTANDING. I can confidently say the best Italian food outside Italy. The service was excellent and enthusiastic. There was... More

We travelled quite a distance to see the great Mr Jo Jo Bones and The One Eyed Jacks at Salvos. How glad we were as it was a superb intimate setting with a delicious set menu. It took us back to when we lived in Trastevere. Rome. Same smells and Italian foods to buy. We need to return to do... More

We came to the Salumeria for the Sardinian regional tasting evening and it was brilliant. We'd been here for a lunch a few times and it's always good but this was something else. A variety of courses, each as delicious as the next. A great atmosphere and the service was spot on. Friendly and attentive without being over bearing or... More

I don't like recommending a place that I really rate highly because then it gets difficult to book but it would be churlish not to share our experience. I've often enjoyed coffee in the Salumeria and have been going to the main restaurant since it opened but this tiem we celebrated my wife's birthday by going to the regional tasting... More

We often call in to this busy Salumeria which is located next door to Salvo's larger restaurant on Otley Road. The Salumeria offers light meals, delicious coffee and pastries during the day, plus a wide range of authentic Italian meats, pastas, oils and other delicacies to take home and cook yourself. The menu has recently been extended, providing customers with... More

We are regulars at the Salumeria for coffee but decided last week to try the lunchtime menu for the first time. The place was buzzing when we arrived and we had to wait a few minutes for a table. The menu seems to cover all the bases from nibbles to hearty platefuls. The wooden platters of anti-pasti going to another table... More

Salvo's Salumeria Cafe and Deli shop is one of the best options to eat in Headingley. Pasta is cooked 'al dente', flavours are authentic, the bread is very good, quality and authenticity in every sense. Service is warm and friendly.

Been popping in for a cheeky espresso and buying my staple Italian larder for ages. The produce on the deli counter is just epic, many a dinner party has started with antipasto from here. Today the staff talked me into staying for lunch and trying the new menu and yes it was the right choice. Passionate staff who care about the... More

Been coming here for NYE dinner for quite a few years. Food and service was good as usual, though I wasn't keen on the second course and certainly for our party it wasn't that easy to serve. It was veal carpaccio with a tuna sauce, not a favourite and the veal was cut a bit thick. Apart from that the... More

Opened in 2005, our Salumeria has established a strong following amongst customers new and old. For those that may be asking what is a Salumeria? - well a Salumeria is an Italian delicatessen. Salume is Italian for cured meat products like prosciutto and salame. We also offer a café within the Salumeria and serve light meals as well as being fully licensed.Salumeria Restaurant The Salumeria "Ristorantino" meaning "The Little Restaurant", is an intimate dining room. We feature specials dinner evenings, from musical soirees and wine tastings to regional dinners showing the best in Italian regional dishes. The menus are created every day by our chefs, using the days favored fresh ingredients so our guests enjoy a well balanced and delicious meal for you to enjoy at a great price, the only thing you have to decide is whether to drink our specially chosen wine recommendation, an ice cold artisan beer or a choice from our wine list. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements when reserving your table. Requesting a table is recommended as these evenings are popular.
