Whether it’s a cup of coffee, glass of wine, snack or full meal, this French eatery’s the place to seek refuge from Brunswick Street’s wannabe pretensions.

Our first time at this restaurant and we will definitely be back. The atmosphere at this little bistro is friendly and the food first class. The pork rilletes and the white anchovies were great starters. My wife proclaimed her barramundi ‘delicious’ and I really enjoyed...More

Some months ago I was quite critical of this restauarant due to the small portions offered. What made matters worse was the food was delicious but there just wasn't enough of it. I wrote a review that was not very complimentary and promptly received a...More

Really enjoyed our meal and service here on a cold winter night in Melbourne. The atmosphere is very welcoming and you could almost believe you are in Paris rather than Melbourne! Service was great, they have balance right with attentive service and adorable French accents...More

After a brisk walk there on a cold day, Bon Ap’ was a cosy space in which to pretend we were in a French bistro somewhere in provincial France. The service was friendly and efficient and the food - mine was the day’s fish special...More

This place is quite the lovely dinky and cosy French restaurant. A single table is for two, so I'd definitely recommend calling the restaurant in advance to see if anything can be arranged to avoid disappointment. Even if you are a small party, I'd recommend...More

We had the “feed me” menu. At $55 per head, this was great value as we were treated to some beautiful food. Entree, seafood, main, cheese and dessert were all fantastic. Great vibe and decor. #treatyoself

Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots,
hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic.
Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll
find little independent shops where local clothes and
furniture designers display their wares. There are
specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality
vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best
thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its

We were upstairs nest to a group of older school kids, no doubt on an "immersion" excursion, and had no trouble carrying on a quiet conversation between us.
