During the visit to the village of Zocca, famous for being the birthplace of the famous singer-songwriter, we had lunch at this tavern.
We started with a porcini mushroom and sausage crostone, as a second course: zampone in balsamic vinegar with potato cream and to finish with a black cherry tart.
Everything amazing!!! Cozy place and friendly staff.
Highly recommended!

The quality of the ingredients is excellent, the pasta feels that it is homemade and pulled thin as god commands.
Highly Recommendation to take the ricotta tortelloni and potato gnocchi with truffles on top, what about .. spectacular.
Cream ice cream with rum and cinnamon a great end.
The price is adequate for what we ate, if we return to Zocca we will definitely come back here!
Congratulations guys!

I've been frequenting this place for a few years now and it's always a pleasure for the palate, here you don't eat, here you enjoy delicacies! There are always dishes with ingredients that the season offers at that moment. Sometimes truly unique combinations that the Chef knows how to weave together.

Visiting Zocca in search of refreshment, we book and stop at OSTERIA DAL CINON. We hadn't found a place in another Osteria that (just by feeling) inspired us more.
The place does not have the possibility of a view (a shame given the height) in summer you eat in the shaded and cool courtyard garden.
We ate appetizers and first courses: crostini with porcini mushrooms and sausage, good, average results, + crostini with raw mazara del vallo prawns whose prawns unfortunately were not enhanced in flavour, you could see them but you couldn't smell them very much. It's a shame given the cost (17 euros).
The first courses: Tortelloni with ricotta and summer truffle + Strette with summer truffle, both good (we are always average). Correct portions, I don't agree with those who wrote that the portions are not satisfactory: the elaborate sauces already have "a full consistency" so adequate portions in my opinion. Little choice of "wine by the glass" compared to the average restaurant.
The bread, unfortunately I'm sorry to say and given the place is perplexing, I would say not advisable: we carefully avoided it.
The dessert chosen: homemade tart, good but in my opinion not very fresh.
High bill for having eaten starter and first course, even taking into account the truffle, we are higher than "starter and fish main" lunches and therefore, in my opinion, not justifiable.

Passing through Zocca, we decided to stop for lunch at the Cinon. What can I say, dishes of unquestionable quality from starters to desserts. Cold cuts and cheeses, tortellini of absolute delicacy. Trained and available staff. We will be back.

This was our second time eating here. The service wince again was exceptional, attentive but not imtrusive, helpful in finding our way to the best on the menu. The Kobe beef was done perfectly. The appetizer of ricotta and pancetta was a perfect blend of sweet and salt. The tortellini was
pure comfort food. The desert was sublime. Some of the best food we have had. Zocca is off the beaten path, but this restaurant makes it worth the drive.

Set in the center of the little downtown of Zocca, Osteria dal Cinon takes place of pride with an elegant and charming facade. The wonderful sense of welcome continued from the minute we walked in the door until the time we left. This is the type of place that feels a little fancy because of its genuine hospitality and grace rather than being overwrought and overpriced.
We enjoyed a delicious meal based on fresh, local ingredients. Luckily catching the end of black truffle season. Our starter course of mouth watering mushrooms on toast was generous in size and packed with flavor. Yet, it barely prepared me for what was to come next. The gnocchi in parmesan cream with shaved black truffles was one of the most satisfying dishes I have ever had. The gnocchi pillowy light, the sauce velvety smooth and the truffles rich and flavorful. It really was perfection. A simple plate of biscotti ended the meal.
Peppered into the afternoon were conversations with the chef. He is talented, kind and very knowledgable about food. This is a man with feet in the country and his mind all over the world. His knowledge shows in the food that he presents.
Zocca is a sweet stop along the way and could merit a quiet walk along its central street. There is a viewing area that offers glimpses across the mountains. A few minutes gazing with the locals is a nice way to stretch your legs. Had the shops been open I probably would have found myself wandering in and out for a while. A town that supports a restaurant like Osteria dal Cinon clearly has something else up it's sleeve that is worthy of discovering.

Went in on a Tuesday night and was welcomed by the front of house who helped with my non-italian speaking vegetarianism! The chef came out and offered to make us things off-menu. Had crostini with porcini and a ricotta mouse with truffle to start, both had tortelloni with butter and sage for main and chocolate mouse with pears in prosecco and rum and cinnamon gelato for afters. With three chardonnay and water, only 60 euro. And all delicious! Thank you.

Zocca is not really a tourist destination. Zocca is a small village in the Colli Bolognesi (Hills area around Bologna). We came there by accident, and it was lunch time. So we walked up the main street - not much to be seen. then we detected a sign for a restaurant and a garden that looked very nice. We decided to try it out - what a wonderful surprise! A burratina with very thin slivers of parmigiano and black truffels on a tomato pesto, a tasty carpaccio with (real old) balsamico, pasta with porcini - and a wonderful Verdicchio white wine (we managed the whole bottle, it was too good). All at a reasonable price! And if you are interested what "Cinon" means, the lady was nice enough to explain: Local dialect for "ragazzone" ('boy").

Together wit my wife we had an excrllent dinner at Osteria dal Cinon. The owner and his wife are very friendly an he gave us a full explanstion of the menu. We had very fine starters: buratta with old parmaham, truffel and tomato sauce and a bean dish with vegetavles and bottarga. After that fresh made tortellini and i had tagliata with porcini. As main course my wife had a salad with a kind of carpaccio and i had a great steak. Also desert was excellent. This was the best restaurant which we had in Italy so far. I can really say it's worthwhile to ho hete gor an excellent dinner.

The town is hardly worth mentioning contrary to its surroundings: the very pretty foothills of the Apennines. It is a remote place, not often visited by tourists so the restaurants cater for locals and passers by. We were most happily surprised. We had burata with summertrufflles and ham in tomato sauce. Local tagliatelle variety with Norcia sausage, Tortelonia with ricotta and crunchy vegetables and Kobe beef...
I am sure that you will find great restaurants in Bologna or Modena but if you make the trip it will be worth your while: the countryside is very pretty and the diner will make it all worth while!
Only one little remark: a lady server had lost her smile somewhere and couldn't find it whatever happened. The friendly staff deserves better colleagues...
