My husband and I had a few beers here the other night. There were only 4 or 5 people in, mostly staff. My husband helped one of the women to organise the books on the shelf- ready for the much anticipated travellers the high season...would bring. Within 10 minutes of leaving we were back at our guest house when my husband realised he had left his phone there. He immediately returned whilst I searched the room. There is no doubt he stupidly left it on the bar. His mistake yes. But the staff at the bar angrily denied ever seeing a phone. Too angry. It's a shame. Of course go here, enjoy the beer, but look after your stuff because unlike other places, there's no lost and found. Only the staff pocket. Consider this not a a bad review about the place but a bad review about the personnel. And a warning from a seasoned traveller never trust too freely.More

After tubing in the river we we're absolutely starved. This restaurant served us a load of great food and a nice Laojito (Mojito with Laos rum). It was a beautiful last night on the Island and we came back for breakfast!

This is a bar that's smack in the middle of the village. Really popular spot. Ning herself is a lovely person. Staff are good with the odd french diva. Food here is good, portions pretty good. Good cold beers at a reasonable price. Recommended.

Spacious dorm upstairs, relatively clean (I don't think anywhere on Don Det is 100% ant-free). Central location - handy to walk to from the pier and while it's not on the river, there are plenty of bars and restaurants around where you can lounge around...on hammocks and enjoy the view. The food was delicious, the chocolate, banana, and coconut milk sticky rice dessert being a particular highlight. Cool staff, both local and western. Organised a boat trip out to a tiny uninhabited island one day for a beach party for about 15-20 people, which was really nice. Shop across the street is good for buses, sim cards etc.More

I've been there for breakfast with my girlfriend.. we had omelett, one with chicken and the other vegetarian with different vegetables. Both were really delicious, the bread served was good as well. Also Lao and Nescafe coffee were great and tasty. I had a fruit...shake, which tasted fresh. Staff was nice to us and we had a good time thereMore

I really enjoyed eating there, the green curry is really good. Staff is really nice, you feel welcome when you enter, and the drinks are cheap. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to have a good time in Don Det!!
