Definitely come here if you want good western food (didn't try Asian food but probably also very delicious!). Everything came at the same time and it tasted delicious. Very good fries! Nice host as well, Australian so very friendly of course!
I recommend this and will come back!

while my wife went for a veg pasta, I opted for the pork chop with fries and pepper sauce. it took a bit of time, but wow, it was worth it. a huge chop, done just the perfect way. it really made my day.

Had lunch here one day and it was tasty and reasonably priced. Owner was chatting away with us and was very friendly. Decent choice on the menu and location is good. Would recommend the pumpkin burger

I can highly recommend the Pumpkin burger, which was delicious, as well as the Lao Lao cocktail!Great place to hang out and enjoy the setting. Darren, the owner, is a great host!

We decided to have dinner at this restaurant since the owner of our bungalow was also the owner of this restaurant. A relaly nice guy with some great BBQ skills! the restaurant had both tables for dinner but also a chill area and had a great vibe!

It was the worst service we've had in the 3 weeks we have been in asia. When we entered the woman just layed there, not Even saying hello, and we had to grab the menus ourselves... When she finnally came over to take our order, she seemed angry that we interrubted her. Never the less was the food alright (we ordered fried rice), but a bit expensive 30k kip for a plate.
Came for the reviews, and left not feeling welcome :(

Great place to go for nice bbq food, the pork chops are amazing and so is the mashed potato. Nice change to the other places in Don Det if you want a nice bit of meat. Nice friendly aussie owner too!

Nice cafe with good food. It is definitely more on the pricy side if you compare it with other places on the island.
The owner, Darren, used to have a bakery (Darren’s bakery), but he stopped doing that a few years ago, so everyone who’s still looking for it, look not further because it’s not here anymore!
We had a burger, a tomato and onion omelette on a baguette, a coffee shake and a coconut shake. Especially the coconut shake was the best we’ve come across on the islands. It had a real coconut taste and not a condensed milk taste!

Visited here for an afternoon beer. It has a great view of the Mekong river. However I would have to say possibly the owner or manager here needs a lesson in manners. We had 2 beers here and when we ordered them it was as if she was saying do you realise you are interrupting my afternoon nap. She had such a sour face on her. So unfriendly. The beer here is more expensive than other places at 15000 kip per bottle. Nice place but would not return.

Best bbq ever!!! Just loved the food, the attention to food safety! The atmosphere was incredible! I honestly was there 2 years ago, but just got trip advisor! It was so good I still think about it! I needed to write a review!!! The owner is awesome, incredibly helpful guy! Worth every penny!!! Enjoy!!

Having spent 4 days sampling different restaurants on Don Det on a backpacker budget, we can reliably confirm that Street View is our favourite. Although it is a tad more expensive than other establishments, the BBQ food and service was fantastic, with a memorable view over the Mekong. I would highly recommend coming here and eating the BBQ pork chops - unbelievable!

Best place, in the river side, we have eaten a delicious fish. Best place in Don Det to eat bbq. If you don’t know where to go, come!!

We had lunch at Streetview, a nice place to sit and relax and watch life pass by on the Mekong. All five of us opted for burgers (first ones in Laos after having traveled around here for 30 days). They were perfect! Even though business was slow (in June there’s hardly any people visiting Lao), everything was very fresh and yummy. We also had great cappuccinos. The owner is Australian and has been living in Laos for many years. He knows all about Si Phan Don and Laos and can share many tips.
