Where to start ? We stayed 1 month there so I can say that we tried and trialed everything. So follow a not exhaustive list :
- One of the few places on Don DeT offering good coffee
- Amazing fish and chips with real batter and fresh fish
- best mojito on the island (and cocktail in general)
- Danging good homemade ice tea (real tea)
- fresh beers
- etc.
All in all, quality food, drinks and music. Last but not least, the owner and the cooks are genuinely nice people.

Visited here for dinner based on TA reviews. I had the Penang Curry and my boyfriend had the fish and chips. Both were really yummy and good value for money.

Awesome food! Try the chicken burger and the lemon ice tea. The staff is a bit uninterested and unmotivated but the food is really nice.

Had a lovely lunch here. Both the curry, which was easily made vegan when requested, and the fried noodles were delicious. Beautiful view of the river and I’m sure sunset would be stunning from this location as well. Really lovely afternoon.

Awesome food. The crispy chicken or crispy fish curry is insane. Huge portions! We came twice and are already missing the food. Lovely staff too. A hidden gem!

We spent every night here for sunset, it's such a laid back bar run by a lovely family. Nice music, great cocktails and good food which is super cheap. You have to spend at least one sunset here during your time on Don det.

The kitchen is really really good. We enjoyed the burger and bruschetta a lot! Rooms are basic with a good net and fan inside and outside!

To be honest the service isn’t great as the guy serving doesn’t really care that much for his customers. Why 5 stars?
The food is definitely among the best I‘ve had in Asia so far in 2 months.
Asian AND European food are cooked to perfection and taste even better than in highly priced European restaurants in Asia.
Also the prices are as low or even lower than anywhere on the island.

Kea’s restaurant is a very nice small bar/restaurant. We went there to eat 3 times and it was excellent the three times.
We ate a really good chicken burger, a great curry (probably the best I’ve eaten on the island) and a good Pad Thai. The prices are really worth it.
And from 5pm it becomes more of a bar where you can still eat. And the view for the sunset is amazing.
Would definitively recommend.

Favourite sunset spot on the island. We had dinner one night and the portions were absolutely huge! Well worth the price for sure. The fried chicken with curry sauce (as per the reviews) was out of this world. Unfortunately the service was lacking and he seemed like he wanted to be anywhere else. Look past that and enjoy the views and good views.

On my first day in DonDet (out of 12) i was searching for the best sunset place on the island to enjoy that with a cold beer and good food. Luckily I decided to have that cold beer at Kea's Place.
On my first two nights I stayed in a hostel a little bit outside of the city center, but I moved to Kea's Bungalows then.
From that time, Kea's Restaurant was that place to be the next days.
Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Beer, Snacks,Sunset-Beer, Happy-Hour, Dinner, Cocktails and repeat.
It's hard to say what is the best food on the menu:
The Schnitzel is great, when you miss the food at home after a longer stay in asia.
The Fish and Chips are a great alternation to the typical Lao dishes.
The Pumpking burger is a great, tasty and delicious vegetarian choice.
For breakfast you can have waffles, french toast or cereals.
Everything is really cheap and delicate.
Go there for sunset, after that try the Mekong Sunset Cocktail in the Happy Hour (Buy two, get one free).
Kea also have 10 Bungalows with Kingsize Beds and Hammocks (only 4 of them are Mekong Side with a view)

First time writing a review but this place deserves five stars. The location, delicious food, the views of the most amazing sun sets I have ever seen, a really friendly owner, chill music. I came back to this bar every day I was in Don Det. 10/10
