Excellent service by Fandi & Naya, very attentive and friendly, beautiful ambience overlooking the sea, ambiance would be little more nicer with soft music, Food was excellent well prepared by the chef, overall the dinner was great and we enjoyed it very much.
Food is nice but for me it's super expensive. Service is also good. But because its in Indonesia I didnt expect the food to be much more expensive than in singapore. 1 main dish minimum is $50 and its for 1 person only. Sides and...desserts also about $20-$30. slow service initially and had to ask for the dirty table to be wiped. First course (appetiser) was good and I had high hopes. Main course was a disappointment, no texture and little taste.
Yes one can say that amazing and expensive does go hand in hand but some dishes did feel over priced for the value we got. Amazing feel and service at the restaurant. Will recommend to people
This is a lovely night out. Food fantastic. Service amazing and a lovely ambience in the room. We went for the tasting menu. I would highly recommend. Make sure you book in advance as really busy. Not one to miss.

Thai food done right tasted delicious and presented beautifully - expected nothing less from a banyan tree establishment....If it were not for the hefty price tag, I would loved to dine here for all my meals.More
We reserved a table for 3( after a wait of about 45 mins) with the help of our friendly front desk staff. We received a very warm welcome by the staff who were very polite and helped us understand the menu. We were served starters...which were very well presented on Banyan leaves, very impressive indeed. The Massaman curry is a must try! The green curry was okay, a bit very mild. The corn fritters has a strong lemon grass fragrance which may not be enjoyed by everyone. There was no room for dessert! We were also helped with a buggy ride back to our resort. Thank you Team Saffron! We would definitely visit again!More
Saffron restaurant in the Bintan Barnyam Tree had Very tasty Thai food , excellent service! But we thought it was over priced even by London standards! 1 spring roll starter, 1 papaya salad , 1 fish , 1 ice cream , i lemon juice and...1 beer cost about 1.5 million Indonesian rupiah about £84! We had dinner but could hardly see the food or each other across the table ! We strained to read the menu despite the light provided on the menu !!More
An amazing experience. From walking in the front door a very hospitable welcome, the service was most welcoming. Staff very accommodating and professional. Ambiance most pleasant and very clean. The food was amazing we had the shared appetizer for 2 followed by the wok fried...beef and wok fried chicken and cashews. Very flavorsome and most enjoyable. With a choice of 4 different varieties of rice. Reasonably priced and if you have an Accor plus membership you receive a discount. Congratulations Saffron and thank you for the lovely dinner.More
I was simply mind blown by how good the food was. The plating and service were incredibly detailed. The food was simply delicious - Michelin star quality. I tried the tropical paradise cocktail and I didn’t want it to end. We simply loved everything and...want more people to visit this awesome place.More
Recently stayed at the Banyan Tree and used this Thai restaurant a couple of times. The restaurant has a beautiful feel, very chic, and the staff are super efficient and friendly. This is " fine dining " Thai style. On top of the beautiful dishes...you get several extras which is a nice touch.i.e. Amuse bouche , sorbet, crackers etc. Highly recommended.More

Excellent Xmas Eve Dinner at Saffron Thai Restaurant at Banyan Tree Bintan! Well currated, each dish, each taste created with care, using genuinely fresh ingredients. Dinner was average, but ridiculously over-priced. The service was good, but nothing special. For the food - portions weren’t great and the taste was average (it tasted nice but did not justify the price). When you ordered the main dishes, the server would come around...with three or four choices of rice to go with it. My table had the option of jasmine, saffron and brown rice. I chose jasmine and saffron but honestly, the difference in taste was so subtle, it felt almost insignificant. Overall, my experience was average at best. I still do not agree with the prices. It’s a complete ripoff. Save your money and eat somewhere else. The prices you pay are clearly to milk naive resort guests of their money.More
