I was simply mind blown by how good the food was. The plating and service were incredibly detailed. The food was simply delicious - Michelin star quality. I tried the tropical paradise cocktail and I didn’t want it to end. We simply loved everything and...want more people to visit this awesome place.More

Recently stayed at the Banyan Tree and used this Thai restaurant a couple of times. The restaurant has a beautiful feel, very chic, and the staff are super efficient and friendly. This is " fine dining " Thai style. On top of the beautiful dishes...you get several extras which is a nice touch.i.e. Amuse bouche , sorbet, crackers etc. Highly recommended.More

It is a Thai restaurant inside the Banyan Tree Hotel. Loved the service and the attention to details, like the rice cart. Lovely food and excellent staff!

Excellent Xmas Eve Dinner at Saffron Thai Restaurant at Banyan Tree Bintan! Well currated, each dish, each taste created with care, using genuinely fresh ingredients. The asparagus and the lamb popped out amongst others. Pricey? Yes. Worth it for Xmas? Certainly. A great one Alpha...& Team Saffron @ Bintan!More

Dinner was average, but ridiculously over-priced. The service was good, but nothing special. For the food - portions weren’t great and the taste was average (it tasted nice but did not justify the price). When you ordered the main dishes, the server would come around...with three or four choices of rice to go with it. My table had the option of jasmine, saffron and brown rice. I chose jasmine and saffron but honestly, the difference in taste was so subtle, it felt almost insignificant. Overall, my experience was average at best. I still do not agree with the prices. It’s a complete ripoff. Save your money and eat somewhere else. The prices you pay are clearly to milk naive resort guests of their money.More

The food was really tasty and the best restaurant on Banyan Tree Bintan premises. We ordered the Papaya Salad & Spring Rolls for appetizers. The deep-fried spring rolls were really thin and crunchy, a must have. For mains, we ordered the green curry, tom yam...goong (soup), pad thai and beef slices. All 4 were great! Hot and spicy and really tasty. I wouldn't recommend the premises for their alcoholic beverages.More

Not worth of the price. It was fancy to have a choice of variety of rice but none were good. Meh. Green curry, Red curry, so below average. Too rich.

With a more formal design and setting Saffron is the perfect option for a quiet, romantic meal. The menu orients towards Thai and Indonesian with a few western options. Exemplary service.

The staff bring you the drinks menu first without the food menu so you have to wait until they serve the drinks before you can order your food. We had to ask for the food menu as we were hungry. We ordered some cocktails which...tasted of cough medicine. The basil mojito had no basil in it with a deep brown substance at the bottom of the glass. Yuck... The tuna tartar was gritty. The papaya salad should usually be finely sliced or shredded but this was thick and rough. We had a duck curry which was tough and in fact we left most of it. The massaman beef curry was ok. The pad Thai had slimy and soft prawns in it. A lady brought over four different types of rice over which we were quite excited about. It was however underwhelming... all rice was under seasoned and pretty much tasted the same. It was almost like they just put different colouring in each type. We didn’t order dessert as it was all so disappointing plus with really expensive prices. We loved Treetops Indonesian restaurant at Banyan tree and in fact had dinner twice there! Would not recommend Saffron though, save your money...More
