Passing thru Bedale on Mothers day Sunday March 26th, saw a welcoming sign outside the pub, "dogs welcome" also free glass of wine for Mothers.... It was just after 2:00 but my wife went in to check and we manged to find a table for 2 (plus dog) and although the place was very busy, everything turned out "spot on"... More

We visited for lunch, three of us and a dog, the sign outside says 'dogs welcome' but being polite we checked on the way in. Yes, dog welcome. We had three meals, a cider and four Cokes, just under £40. The food was hot, well presented and tasty. The room was spacious, typical pub in a good way.

We went out for a last minute pub lunch and a couple of pints! This place is exactly what you would expect from a town pub, decent food and a good pint with a large beer garden to enjoy the sun.

We sat in the beer garden, which is a yard really but it was pleasant enough. The menu is simple and reasonably priced. There were four adults and two children and at the end of the meal, clean plates all around. Would recommend for a casual, simple lunch.

Had lunch here, owner was really friendly, made our dogs welcome, brought them fresh water, sat in beer garden, cheerful and with kids play area and rabbits, plenty of tables, some under shelter, food was lovely, generous portion sizes, beer was cold.... Will visit again, recommend.

The Waggon (sic) and Horses is a pretty ordinary pub. There's nothing particularly special about it, but nothing bad either. Service was fine. Not much else to say really other than its a decent pub for a pint.

Went in on Friday, 1st July for a lunch before continuing on our journey. Sat down, sticky tables (never a good sign). Order the 2 course senior citizen meals. Starting with vegetable soup. It was tasteless, I tried adding salt and pepper, no improvement. It was that bad we could NOT eat it. Worst soup I have ever tasted. (... More

I discussed my booking and payment from Australia for April 2016 with Steve and was impressed with his willingness to ensure my payment method tied in with his inability to take an MasterCard or cash transfer. In the end, we agree I would pay in cash on arrival for my 27 nights' stay, Steve was patient and accommodating bit I... More
