Lovely country pub restaurant, very friendly and helpful staff, evening meal nicely prepared and a well kept selection of real ales at the bar. Alex and George made everyone welcome with their attention to service. Breakfast was a particular highlight for me, a good mug of freshly made coffee, tasty muesli followed by scrambled eggs and smoked salmon served with... More

Lovely little country pub. Nice bar, great food. Made a welcome change to staying in big chain hotels.

I had the (Korean chicken wings) for a starter and had to ask for a spoon because the sauce was so good. I totally disagree with the previous post on price because it was worth every penny. I then followed with a main course of roast chicken and that was one of the most tasteful experiences I've had in a... More

Had lunch here with a mate. The flavours were good, but only 3stars as I think it was a little pricey for the chicken (spicy Korean). I ordered it as a main course and got a big bowl of chicken wings but that was all (nothing else). Okay, but it was £17! I think that's a little too much and... More

Visited this quaint pub while visiting Duns Tew several years ago. It was one of the first of many English pubs that I visited during my stay in England. It was just as you would imagine (as an American) an pub in the English countryside would be. I would visit again in a second. Thanks for the memories. 💕

Great pub really nice staff, The owner Michael went the extra mile to find my friends earring which she lost in her room. The rooms are nice and clean and worked well for us for a couple of nights. Food is excellent. Would stay again.

We had a great Sunday lunch. Two had the roast beef, served rare to order, one the cheeseburger and I had slow roast pork belly. All excellent. Interesting serving of vegetables, well cooked. The roast potatoes and the fries were delicious, being cooked in beef fat. Indulgent chocolate truffle to follow. Log fire burning gently. Good beer selection

After a wet walk we were pleased to be welcomed for lunch and dry out in front of a real log fire. The service was good, and we had a "snug" for our group to have lunch in. Most of us had fish and chips, tart with chips and salad, or open sandwiches. There were reasonable portions of food, although... More

Went there for the night for Mother in Laws birthday. Five of us, dinner, bed & breakfast. Lovely village, great pub and good staff. Warm and welcoming. Dinner was good pub food, but not exceptional. Prices reflected that. I would happily go back if I was in the area. Rooms were clean and well equipped, if a little small. Bathrooms... More

We visited this pub for our anniversary. Nice greeting on arrival. Starters were great. I had the steak and my husband had the Battered Hake for main. Both great, although the frites! left a lot to be desired. I received a side bowl which were broken stubs of obviously frozen chips and my husbands, overwhelmed his plate. Less is more. Average... The White Horse is a quintessential 17th century English coaching inn set on the eastern side of the Cotswolds in the charming village of Duns Tew. With original flagstone floors, beams and real fires. The White Horse has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere making it the perfect place to enjoy a drink or meal with friends. Our south facing terrace is perfect on warm days. Well behaved children and dogs are welcome. The White Horse has greeted travellers for the last three hundred years. Little is known of the early history of this late 17th century hostelry, but there was certainly an Inn here. Inn keepers are recorded here up to the present day, with its own brew-house run by a Maltster, in the early 17th century. The brew-house is now the site of the gents' loo.Towards the end of 1981 The White Horse was remodelled with the addition of a dining room, but it was still a true Inn as there was stabling and fodder for a traveller's horse as well as Bed and Breakfast for the rider. In the last decade of the 17th century the White Horse was again developed to the arrangement seen now, with a new Kitchen, Dining Room and Bar, in a traditional style, and extended bedroom accommodation.
