We visited the Woodman Arms for Sunday lunch and was greeted by a welcoming smile and a friendly service which was excellent as I was brining along some overseas family and a young family member. Having contacted the pub 12 days before to enquire as...More

Having noticed this attractive pub many times from the A27, we called in for lunch last Saturday lunchtime. Very attractive pub garden, though very noisy due to traffic roaring past. The inside is pleasant, country style. Menu was very uninspiring and very expensive, especially when...More

Hi Mistyweaver, So sorry to see a very disappointing review from your experience with us at The Woodman Arms. Unfortunately there isn't a lot we can do with the A27 and traffic, we have our main garden away from the road which is much quieter....More

Came here with group of frineds (6 in total) on a Sturday evening. Good welcome and excellent service. The pub was quiet (wonderful - no unnecessary loud music) with the space to chat peacefully. The dining area is separate from the bar although they mix...More

I took my wife here for a quiet meal on our anniversary, it was good to have a meal in a pub with no fruit machine, no television, the food itself was well cooked and presented, my wife had Moroccan chicken which was delicately spiced,...More

No musak, no children, just a welcoming traditional pub with a great team. Only drinking on this occasion after a cross country walk, but have eaten there - all excellent and highly recommended. Best book ahead for a table as they are popular.

The Woodman Arms is a beautiful example of the traditional, 'roses-round-the-door' country pub. Boasting a stunning thatched roof and surrounded by fine Sussex countryside, it's a blissful place to enjoy good food, company and liquid refreshment.
