Ignored the bad reviews and took a chance. Had fresh cod with chips. It was very good. Cooked perfect, light batter and moist fish. Fish servings not very big but we enjoyed the meal.

We were staying in Cow Head and decided it would be easy to buy a couple of moose burgers to take back to our room for supper. Meh. Ordinary. If you want to eat a moose burger go to Earl's in Rocky Harbour.

Stopped in for a quick bite on the way to Port au Choix. Friendly staff and what I would say is a fine place for this small town. I had the chowder, of course and a moose burger and fries. Chowder was thick and OK. I have had better and worse. The moose burger was excellent and the fries were... More

We stopped at this cafe as it was close to where we were staying. I had the moose burger and fries and my husband had fish and chips. We were both satisfied. In fact, my burger was exceptional. The cafe is very ordinary in appearance but it is clean and the service good. Should we be in the area in... More

We were staying at the Shallow Bay Motel and needed to have dinner. We had dined at the motel the night before and found it average and expensive. Well we just loved this little cafe. It was busy but we we seated right away and given menus. Within.5 min our order was taken. The cod and chips were fresh and... More

Great fish and chips. Local fare. Very reasonably priced. Nothing Fancy but handy to the hotel if a change is required.

I won't call it haute cuisine, but it was decent food. The moose burger was fair, but a little dry. Adding mayo did help it. The service was fine, but the restaurant was basically empty. I'd say if you are looking for a quick lunch give it a shot.

The meals are all overpriced, my boyfriend paid $13 for a hot turkey sandwich platter - his sandwich was open-faced and he wasn't given an option for closed... it had about 6 pieces of turkey on it, and very few french fries. I ordered a bowl of soup, and a small poutine, which were both average in taste and price.... More

Saw the moose burger sign while looking for a place to eat, and since I was determined to try moose while in NL. We stopped. Service was not great, but the moose burger was. Well cooked and tasty. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again, but I did enjoy the meal.
