I wanted to drop by this place because I thought it was the original store of the more known Paper Moon Tokyo that sells mille feuilles. Was I ever glad to be wrong! We tried the apple pie and it was absolutely delicious! Just a slight tartness, just the right amount of cinnamon, and pastry that's not too thick! The... More

This tea house / cafe restored our faith in the service culture in Japan. Excellent experience, if a little expensive (nearly ¥3,200) for tea for two (Assam), and the most beautiful homemade gateaux and home made pies we have seen for a long time. Beautiful modern, airy building set in the trees just back from the lake. Highly recommended.

Fantastic! Delicious! Must visit! We didn't have a car and we are staying at a nearby campground. This was close and had good reviews. This is totally worth it, even if you have to walk 30 minutes.

You go for the cakes! A marvellous assortment of homemade tarts and desserts. So hard to choose just one. There are no sets so buying a drink and cake comes to around 1300 or 1400 yen, but totally worth it. Our cakes and caffe lattes were wonderful, and it was lovely sitting out on the patio. Kids under 10 are... More

On a sunny day we sat outside and enjoyed some delicious home made dark cherry pie and a light fresh strawberry sponge with a drizzle of chocolate sauce. A pot of freshly brewed tea made for a perfectly tranquil break in our travels. I think the ' no under 10 yr olds ' rule is for the safety of all... More

This cafe has policy of no child bellow 10y. Not sure why, as the ambiance is quiet relax and family friendly. We went there with our two kids (10 & 14). Their cake are good, american style, but I think it is over-priced. Coffee and tea are just average.

While living in Japan I have seen many beautiful restaurants. But none compared to this treasure at Lake Yamanaka. While visiting during a dog show, my Japanese friends introduced me to Paper Moon. It was magical. The tea set was beautiful, the desserts were delicious. The atmosphere took my breath away. The service was fast and friendly. I loved their... More

Me and six others friends of mine were visiting this place in early November afternoon time. Exact time for having a cup of coffee. Arrived at the place we saw many people fulfilling the cafe. Then we ordered cappuccino, latte and hot tea plus pumpkin cake, cheese cake and raspberry pie. All of the cake was awesome, great taste and... More

The ambience was very nice and relaxing. Had some delicious cobblers and ice cream. Both a cafe and a shop combined into one. Many interesting products for sale.
