This is the oldest hotel in Kone but that’s no excuse for my bad experience. The room smelt of mildew, shower curtain stained, the twin beds tiny ( even though my booking stated a ‘suite with double ’). The light over ‘desk ‘ was so...feeble I could barely read my work. Only one power outlet in room so I had to choose whether to charge my phone or laptop, dry my hair or watch tv (which was not working anyway). The one star is for my dinner meal which was tasty and served by a very sweet young girl. However the glass of red wine was undrinkable. My husband and I decided to eat at the restaurant Koniambo because although we stayed the night at La Nea the menu there wasn't very inspiring. The buffet meal shown on the Koniambo web page looked very attractive. The buffet turned out to be most...uninspiring. There was a large number of salads but they were all pretty similar. The fish that evening was tuna and marlin - both cooked on a hot plate when ordered. I thought that the equivalent of AU$100 for the meal that included one soft drink and one glass of wine left a lot to be desired. Three years ago i came to this hotel for a couple of days. Rooms are acceptable, the restaurant is buffet with a hot meat bar with tuna, lamb and and chicken cooked to Customers' term. The tuna used to be prepared by adding lime and...salt flip over, repeat the ingredients and ready... very easy and yet very tasty. Not anymore, only salt was added this time....quite bland i must say. The side options don't match the fish. The buffet options are not very tasty either. The place is inviting but the food is not up to it.More
