Only a small restaurant but booked in our group of 12. Great service, food was made quickly and everyone was happy with their food. They also had a good selection of wine and sake to try.

Trade your shoes for slippers at the front door and enter a cozy little place with brick-red walls, wooden floors and comfy chairs. An appetizer consisting of half a dozen locally sourced mushroom varieties served in a small cast iron skillet with french bread on...the side was out of this world, and the grilled lamb entree was easily the best dish we had during our stay in Rusutsu. Diners can even order from a decent selection of high-end single-malt scotches to round out the evening. And our server Remi was attentive, responsive, cheerful and funny. She made our whole evening even more enjoyable.More

Great atmosphere (quaint and about 6 large tables) and got the Shabu Shabu and extra udon. It was delicious and the right amount for two people.

I visited Red House on my first day in Rusutsu, after balking at the 6,000 yen resort dinner. What a relief! The lamb chop with veggies and rice was delivered sizzling and fresh, the presentation of my hot chocolate was exquisite, and the service was...personal. Very fresh ingredients. Fresh local meats such as steak and lamb on a sizzling hot plate. Shabu shabu is with traditional dipping sauce and sesame sauce. It's a set menu with three different types of meat. There are also pizzas you require comfort food. Complete...bar with whiskey, wine, beer and coffee; more a lodge than a full bar.
