The Atrium have definitely picked up their game since our last visit. I am not a fan of buffets. But in Rusutsu you have no other options for breakfast so the Atrium Buffet it is. To be honest for breakfast I was only having toast...and cereal. There was a good selection of fruit, pastries, bread and freshly made eggs on offer also. But it was the lunch, snacks and dinner menu that have improved, there are a lot more western options like salad sandwich, beef burgers, soups and spaghetti bolognaise, even free ice cream for kids which of course they loved. We are returning next year so I hope things have improved even more by then!!More

Although the Atrium has less selection than the Oktoberfest, I believe the food is a higher quality. Also it is the only breakfast location I know in this resort complex that offers "to-order" hot chocolate, expressos, and lattes. Great views of the scenery from the...wide ceiling-to-floor windows.More

Toddler's free. Reasonable child price. An excellent selection of fresh foods, dessert and fruit. A la carte menu items can be sent to your room! Will definitely eat here again.

Hotel restaurants are really famous for being delicious and affordable, but the Atrium restaurant at the Westin was both. Service is exemplary, and the atrium itself has a beautiful view over the snow. Meals are quite reasonable priced, ranging from about 12-30k yen ($10-$30). I...had ramen which was a large size, and delicious for only 12k. They have a delicious kids menu as well.More

We spent a week at the Westin and would stop at Atrium for a bite when we were too tired (or lazy) to leave the hotel. We found the cafe/a la cart menu, albeit limited, is much better than the buffet. The biggest disappointment, though,...is the lengthy wait for service. On our last day we stopped in for a drink before catching our shuttle. After a 30 min wait the staff still hasn’t come by to offer a menu or take orders, despite a number of them walking by our table. It looks like that drink will have to wait until we are in Sapporo...More

Nice restaurant in the lobby. They serve a buffet with a lot of choices including king crab. A lot of the food, I believe, is angled for the many Chinese tourists here but plenty of choices for everyone!! Everything was fresh and pretty good quality....A bit too expensive unless you really like King crab. Recommended!!!More

We enjoyed the food. A nice big restaurant so Nope need to wait. I recommend making a reservation just to be on the safe side. The only downside is it was the same options night after night.

Took a day off from skiing and went to the Atrium for lunch with the family. We were lucky and arrived just before the rush. Service was courteous but not particularly fast. Food was quite nice but not exceptional. Fried noodles with pork were tasty...but did not seem to have been fried. Caesar Salad was delicious bunch of lettuce and veg and poached chicken slices, but the dressing was more a ranch than caesar. Soba noodles were a big hit. The chef's special chicken was underwhelming - same poached chicken as in the caesar salad served with a couple of veggies and a demiglaze; and they forgot to bring it out so we had to ask and wait while it was re-ordered. Biggest hit was the fish and chips - light crispy batter on very tasty fish.More

This is the restaurant that I felt being profiled by their receptionist waitress. Twice I was denied entry to dine there with excuse of no tables but this pathetic restaurant is half full. Anyway food is sucks. The bacon edges are tough as if it...gone thru days of refrigeration. Sausages are not heated and cook evenly, they are still cold at the ends. Those salmon fish are fishy and with taste of refrigeration. Overall, give it a miss but wait....there are no other choices. I suggest you brave the snow to 7-11 store about 100m away from rusutsu hotel.More

This was our daily go-to restaurant for the buffet breakfast, even though there were two restaurants on the side where our group was staying. It was worth the extra 10-15 minutes to take the monorail over to the Westin Tower to dine at the Atrium....Chef Werner's attention to detail shows in the cleanliness and freshness of the foods offered. Refills of food items were prompt, ensuring a fresh supply at all times. The coffee equipment was top notch, supplying us with made-to-order mochas, lattes, capucinos, expressos - anything you wanted! The only problem might be getting back to the N/S towers across the street since the monorail only seats 48 people at a time, and families who are going over to the lower elevation and shorter run West side to ski for lessons or for the terrain park all take the monorail in the morning to be on the slopes or in line by 9am. We were trying to go back around 11:30/noon right after it was announced that the resort was opening 1 lift on the West side. We had to wait in line while two full trains transported skiers and boarders over to the west when a big storm closed all the lifts except for West #1 Quad. If you finish your breakfast early (Atrium opens at 7am) you could beat the early skiers and boarders.More
