There is always a warm welcome at this great chip shop. All the staff are friendly particularly the husband & wife team. The food is always really good & great portions too. There is a fab lunch time offer on too. Enjoy, we do.

Had Haddock and Chip, and Spicy curry sauce, fish was nice and fresh, batter slightly heavy, nice chips if a little over crispy and dry. Son had a mini fish, reasonable portion, decent portion of chips. Pleasant service one of the best in Marple.

We moved to Marple Bridge in October 2016 and given that the North West of England is famous for its fish and chips, set about trying to find the best one in the area. So far I have now sampled 8 relatively local chippies and this is head and shoulders above all the rest of those we have tried. Fresh,... More

I'm rather sad to write this, as I always expected better from the Fryer. Over the few years it's been open, I've been disappointed, but then I did spend 25 years in the chippy industry. Nevertheless, I gave it another go to see if things had improved, sadly not, it remains consistently average to poor. The owner really does need... More

It does the best fish and chips in the area. There's not much more to say really - the fish is cooked to order and so is always fresh, the chips are cooked in small batches and are not greasy. Friendly service, decent prices. Recommended.

We are only occasional visitors as we live 50 miles away but we do try to call in when we can. This friendly family fish and chip shop is just plain lovely. Serving far more than just fish and chips and using locally made pies we just love the warm welcome as well as the food. The proprietor Steve is... More
