We dined here from recommendation of the local Hong Kong TV programme. Access to this restaurant is problematic, so you probably need to drive there or take a local taxi to arrive. The fish is naturally and freshly caught in the lake just outside the restaurant, which is cooked or made into delicious sashimi. Overall, the fish is well made... More

Loved that this restaurant's along a quiet road on the fringe of the main tourist area. It's indicated on the tourist map so it's not difficult to find. Do note that they only have trouts prepped in different ways - sashimi, simmered, fried and salt baked - so please do not come here if you are expecting more from the... More

read about from a guide book given by the Japanese tourism board in singapore, decided to try and was worth the walk. freshest and sweetest trouts bred in the restaurant's compound, My girls got to watch the owner catch their lunch. not suited for those on a rush. This restaurant serves incredible trouts grills and sashimi. Very affordable (550yens for a grilled fish). Incredible setting in a typical shirakawa world treasure house. Do not miss it!
