La Zucca is exactly the type of restaurant we seek--cooking that reflects the traditions of place, locally sourced seasonal ingredients, excellent interpretation and wine suggestion, and an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. Easily the best meal in our two weeks of travel.
Dinner: Wednesday- Friday
Lunch & Dinner: Saturday and Sunday
Reservations are necessary and can be made online (phone calls not answered).
Not the easiest place to access without a car, but well worth the effort.

Very good, well looked after, the dessert and cheese trolley is always excellent.
The inclusion of their historic tripe in the menu is also a plus. In my opinion, however, too much parmesan is used.
A discordant note is the excessive price of some appetizers such as salmon, little and too high a price. Furthermore, one dish was not attractive to the eye, a shame, and nothing special, a sort of poorly presented omelette.
Excellent cheeses, excellent desserts, excellent lamb.

What a place!!! It is a few minutes' climb from Lake Orta and can be combined with a trip at any time of the year. All excellent, traditional Piedmontese cuisine, revisited in a creative way. Among the starters, I recommend the leek, apple and gorgonzola strudel, the Cantabrian anchovies and the creamed cod. Also very good are the tripe, the Piedmontese agnolotti with roast sauce, the pumpkin gnocchi with ham, amaretto and cinnamon. The cheese trolley and the two (two!!!) dessert trolleys are spectacular, with a vast choice, I think between about twenty cakes and other desserts, all homemade. The place has been renovated a few years ago, the staff is friendly, professional, attentive: they really make you feel at home.

La Zucca is the best traditional cuisine restaurant in the VCO and the province of Novara.
The suggestion is that the dishes take you back a few decades.
The pumpkin gnocchi were the best I have ever tasted. I gasped at the first bite.
With the consistency of clouds, they were embellished with lots of butter, the good kind, a calibrated quantity of amaretti biscuits and Vigezzo ham, which added flavor and crunchiness here and there.
The baked lamb cheek with pears of different consistencies, tossed in butter and a sweet mulled wine sauce was sensational, as well as being a true time machine that brought to mind a cuisine no longer available.
The carts of sweets and cheeses for which you must keep space in your stomach or you will regret it. Beautiful. Filled.
Tome from Val Sesia and cheeses from Ossola. Homemade cakes, custards, eggnog, glazed chestnuts, homemade compotes.

Finally we were able to book and the wait was worth it!! Cozy place and relaxing atmosphere, excellent dishes prepared with care and passion, very prepared staff and who manages to convey with words the family's passion for cooking. Amazing cart of cheeses and desserts (next time I start there...). Too bad I have to do almost 200 km but I will certainly return as soon as possible. Bravi.

Hospitality, professionalism and kindness are the setting for a menu, in my opinion, nothing short of delicious.
I appreciated every single course for the uniqueness of the flavors.
Fantastic and unforgettable pumpkin gnocchi with Vigezzo raw ham, amaretto, cinnamon, parmesan and butter.
Delicious "priest's hat" braised in "Ghemme" with potato puree and drops of blueberries.
What about the cheese and dessert trolleys?
Highly recommended.

...what can I say: a unique experience across the board, dishes of surprising quality., the priest's hat a 10, but then do we want to talk about the cheese and dessert trolleys??? scary!!! a compliment to the women in the dining room for the professionalism demonstrated but always making you feel at home. Unfortunately that day it was raining and snowing so we couldn't fully enjoy the view from the restaurant.
The atmosphere inside, however, was warm and welcoming.
The food is refined and amazing. The search for perfection shines through in every presentation.
The service was friendly, polite and efficient.
The prices are average for a restaurant of this type.

Enchanting location overlooking Lake Orta, elegant and welcoming. Fantastic staff, knowledgeable and very courteous. Incredible dishes, well prepared and tasty. Cheese trolley full of local specialities. Space sweets. Michelin star!

For several reasons we had not been to this "good" restaurant for some time.
Finally back!
Meanwhile, renovated and made very welcoming.
The menu remains great.
Some proposals that fortunately are repeated because exquisite, others new. Everything is perfect.

Wow. We loved it. I am vegeterian my partner is not. It was one of the best dinner I had in Italy. The food is high quality and feel like home made. I recommend it alot.

I have visited La Zucca restaurant on many previous occasions, and congratulate the family and staff on always providing the warmest of welcomes. The atmosphere is very inviting and intimate, suitable for couples or larger groups.The menu is not enormous but offers a fine selection of mouth watering dishes. Today we tried the canelloni al anatra and melanzane alla parmigiana as first courses, followed by succulent grilled lamb and vegetables. Everything was delicious.
Thank you all for a memorable afternoon, we will return soon
