Good, quick, reliable and cheap eats. What more can you ask for. Emu is a regular pit stop for me when I'm about town.

This place is a must go if you are a ramen or katsu fan. Located near the Hakuba train station Emu offers the best value and best tasting Ramen and Katsu's in town.Large servings are standard and the prices are extremely good value.

We were very lucky to get into Emu - it's incredibly popular, and for good reason. The food is great, it's filling, a fun experience and it's incredibly inexpensive. We did try to go back to Emu for a second night but sadly they were booked out. If you'd like to dine there bookings are essential... I believe they're totally... More

Great food and service. Delicious "Japanese Ebi pancake" , ramen, gyoza and with large servings. Hot plate cooking is interactive and great experience with friends.

Found this place accidentally, we were trying to go to Totsuan, but they had just had a fire unfortunately. I'd recommend booking ahead to get a grill table. Although, we sat at the kitchen bar and we're able to have a great view of our food being cooked. Big serves and great value- will be back again :)

we were recommended this restaurant by a local and so glad we went the food is amazing. as usual we over ordered because they serve such big portions and the kids eyes are bigger than the stomachs but in saying that we did get to try an amazing aray of dishes that we probably wouldn't have. we had the gyoza... Great food, friendly staff, went out of their way to be helpful. Had the gyoza and okonomiyake (have to have a BBQ table to make the okonomiyake) make a reservation to avoid the wait!

When I first saw the sign I thought it was an Australian establishment named after that Ostrich like bird. Ha! Turns out it's just M. This is a Japanese diner specialising in basic home cooking fare prepares by a bunch of Japanese Earth Mother types right in front of you. It's fresh reasonably priced and reasonably quick. I had a... More

We dined at Emu twice because we loved the food so much. Our first meal was a light lunch of gyoza (pork & chive dumplings) with rice, broth and pickled veg (approx 600 yen). Be patient as it is very popular and busy at lunchtime but so worth the wait. Dinner later that night was pork cutlet curry, pork &... More

This place was great! Best deal on a Japanese fried chicken dinner you will find anywhere. Unfortunately, they had a big fire in the building in September, and it is closed indefinitely.
