We stopped here during a coastal walk. The staff are great, but I cannot say the same of the food. I ordered a full cooked breakfast. It was sizeable, but the quality of the ingredients was poor, despite it being relatively expensive. A case of volume over substance. I'd recommend you order with care, for other reviewers have found the... More

The food was ok , good range of cakes but very pricey -- as is the local pub here. We found it rather noisy

The pub were a bit offhand and said they'd finished service 2.55pm so we went to this cafe. Enjoyed kippers with bread and butter and a good pot of tea. Cakes looked tempting but we were happy with what we had. Staff pleasant and at times quite amusing - would that be a Latte of a Lahte, giggle Returned again... More

Went here for lunch after walking along the coast from Newton via Dunstanburgh castle and had a very pleasant lunch with soup and toasted sandwiches and a gooey treat for desert --as we walked back as well this was a well earned pit stop with good food and pleasant service

The pub was full but we found this great little cafe and some lovely tea and cake. We were welcomed in the garden with the dog and the waitress was very pleasant .

After a lovely walk from Howick we timed it nicely for the 10 am opening for breakfast. We arrived to find the cafe not ready for customers and were kept waiting (after we went to order) If you advertise you open at 10 you must be ready for customers , they were still not ready at 10.15 and it was... Went on a cold and miserable day but what a treat in store. I had crab sandwiches complete with lovely dressed salad and crisps, hubbie had prawns on home made bread with the same accompaniment and pots of tea. The place was very busy but staff were continuously friendly and helpful. All the food looked very delicious.

I was walking from Embleton to Craster and thought ' I could really use a coffee and a scone in a cafe that welcomes dogs.' There it was. Fine coffee, fresh scone and water for dogs. Perfect. Jane
