We eat here fairly often. Think its gone down hill ... On one visit my husband and daughter had the burgers - not as good as they used to be , tasted rather processed ???? My other daughter had the pie and had to say absolutely wonderful , fabulous gravy and bursting with filling , in a tasty pastry case... More

We were looking to celebrate some family good news and chose to book a table at the Turk's Head. We would advise anyone coming here to book since it is an extremely popular place which is always looking to offer something different. When we arrived we found that the bottom of the car park now has a pen for pigs... More

If you are desperate or not really fussed eat here. For us it was convenient not having to go out to find somewhere to eat. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty it took 10 minutes in discussion between staff before we were given a table. Inside looks like a typical seaside town eatery from the 1960s and not a lot... Staying next door at The Heritage B&B went in for evening meal .Not at all disappointed.Friendly and helpful staff and service .The 2 starters we chose weren't available so we chose of the specials board and we were not really upset as our choices were delicious (whitebait and moules .) As someone has previously said the portions were very generous.The... More

Mid-week lunch with an aged relative was a success all round. The pub's service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant area was spacious and well lit. The food was good and portion sizes verged on enormous! The breaded whitebait starter was excellent though there could be more imagination / character with the tartare sauce. The moules marinières were good... More

My family and I have visited here every Sunday since Christmas. We go every Sunday and the food is fantastic. We use the restaurant part rather then the bar as my Dad is in a wheelchair and we then have table service rather than ordering at the bar. It's a lovely atmosphere and very friendly place to go. I would... More

We visited this pub again today for Sunday Lunch Carvery, with friends. The carvery is extremely popular and booking is an absolute necessity; indeed the couple in before us turning up on the off chance of getting a table were turned away. The place was full of family groups there to celebrate all sorts of occasions and to have a... More

So its worth a visit but bid advise to book as it's so popular. Great Carvery that's available daily & other great selection to choose from.... More
