We were in Fujikawaguchiko to view the autumn colour and it was during a very wet & cold autumn day. So the Hōtō, a popular regional dish originating from Yamanashi of stewed flat udon noodles and vegetables in miso soup was the ideal choice. We arrived during the busy lunch hours and fortunately some guests were leaving so we managed... More

We ate here as part of a tour on a cold day. I tried the beef hato as did most of my family. It was thick, hearty and delicious with a thick udon noodle. I also tried the red bean dessert which was nice but ambit too sweet for my liking. Good for a cold day.

The best place to visit during autumn/winter for a hot meal. We went during lunchtime. I had the Gyu-Hoto (beef udon noodle soup with loads of veges) is amazing. They even have vegetarian only options such as mushroom (which my wife had) or pumpkin Hoto. What is particularly awesome is their karaage (fried chicken). Have tried karaage wherever I can... More

This restaurant is just next to the maple corridor, and they serve really good udon and houtou. I would recommend anyone going to Fujikawaguchi-ko to try the houtou.

We came here for lunch. There is no outside seating but that's ok because it was nice to get out of the sun. We both had hoto. One mushroom and one beef and they were both excellent! So glad we came here and reasonably priced too. Each bowl of hoto was ¥1400. Iced coffee about ¥400. Delicious!
