I hadn't been here for many years, but I knew the Plough had a very good reputation, judging from the loyalty of its many regular customers. I went there with a group of a dozen or so diners, for our pre-Christmas lunch. Our table was...More

Such a pleasure to have so much that is actually home made. Came for office lunch, lovely table setting, superb staff, lovely real fires. Food beautifully home made but may be too generous portion of main course. Lamb superb. Best of all i like the...More

Went on a Friday night for the first time - friend chose the pub to meet up - neither of us had been to The Plough before. It has a lovely, warm, cosy, atmosphere. Both of us chose the Fish Pie and must say it...More

I keep going back because I like the menu choice but the bar staff have no customer service. They really need training on how to speak and treat customers. They seem more interested in what appears to be their regulars drinking pints and not those...More

I have eaten here a number of times and it is consistently good. This is not a pub trying to be a gastro pub but the standard of cooking is better than many pubs. I like the Cumberland sausage and mash

Great range of ales and wines at reasonable prices. Nice garden to while away a few hours even has a covered area for shade. We chose to have a mixed platter which was a nice mix of tasty treats.
