Steak pie had burnt pastry. When I say burnt, I mean it was BLACK! How any chef could allow it to leave their kitchen is beyond me. Even the waitress had the opportunity to raise some degree of quality control with the chef. Underneath the cremated pastry, the pie contents were bulked out with a lot of carrots and potato... Visited the bar on Friday evening and found it lively ,cosy with a real fire and it had a great atmosphere.Great barman who knew his stuff.Friendly locals too which always helps. We had a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night .Would definitely recommend. I had the duck as a starter which was substantial and delicious.Chump of lamb for my... More

Ate in the public bar. Had langoustine with a dressed salad. Delicious. Sea bass and also guinea fowl. Very good quality restaurant standard. Would come here to eat again, as the Guinness was good and the atmosphere in the bar friendly.

With quite expensive pricing compared to other restaurants in and around the area, you would expect top notch presentation and taste. We ate here 3 times and found it quite inconsistent, from the portion sizes to not getting what we asked for. We asked for green veg and got a bowl of roasted swedes and parsnips (which were not good)... More

I am one of the first to thank and compliment, however visiting the Galley of Lorne on Friday evening with 3 friends we found it was unbelievably poor. We had driven from Edinburgh and were looking forward to a relaxing drink and tasty food. Having been to the Galley many times previously it has unfortunately consistantly gone down hill in... More

I chose 'rib eye steak on a bap + chips' for lunch - mediun cooked. It was a little pink in the middle so I don't think it was over cooked, but it would not cut with the knife and I couldn't chew it. Needless to say I never finished it. My wife's chicken dish was ok.

I know, out of season and a Tues night, perhaps chefs night off. On arrival offered menu on a tatty smudged piece of A4, didn't bode well. Ordered Ceasar Chicken Salad starter which was served with brown tired lettuce...Mentioned it to staff who shrugged and charged me full price anyway. Main was the most expensive item, Venison Wellington, tasty and... More

We booked four nights here because we understood it was friendly and family run. We didn't get to meet any of the family. We didn't find it especially friendly either I'm sad to say. Breakfast every morning was a shambles. Wrong orders often and long delays - one man waited an hour for his. Our own experience was that the... More

I did not eat here so this is just a review of a traveler with his dog. The bar is a bit barn like but stone flagged and pleasant enough. Several ales were on offer including to my surprise Titanic Anchor from the Midlands. one of my favorites. Food prices seemed reasonable and I made a mental note to call... More

Our Restaurant with its massive picture window gives all diners unparalleled, breathtaking views across Loch Craignish.

With a menu to rival any restaurant in Oban, the Galley of Lorne offers delicious and stylish dining. Enjoy pre or post dinner drinks or a dram of whisky on our comfy sofas, alternatively stroll a few steps directly into the Lounge Bar in the company of our spectacular carved oak lions.

We like to use local ingredients that are in season including seafood and game. Take a look at our menus to 'whet your appetite'.

In addition to our superb menu, we also have menus for children's meals and our own homemade desserts and coffee menu. Furthermore, there are always a selection of 'specials' to give you even more choice.
