La Gorgona is located on the right side of Diafani beach, out of the track where people usually step to visit the beach. Yet, you enjoy a nice view and a constant breeze. Starting your day with a "caffe con la moka" at la Gorgona, gives that special feeling of "me time". Gigi and Sofia prepare and serve delicious specialties... More

We had dinner and morning coffees at La Gorgona, while visiting Diafani. The food, coffees and hot chocolates were good. The service was fine and the setting was delightful, with beautiful views and a refreshing evening breeze. We also found their long term customer and expat Britt, a very helpful source of information about local hikes.

Gorgona offers delicious Italian food in diafani and sure worth visit ! Absolutely try spaghetti sea food and spaghetti with handmade pesto . Delicious salads and handmade desserts ! Try tiramisu . The problem is slow and bite unfriendly service (perhaps the waitress should be changed )!

A sweet place to be, friendly personel always with a smile on their face! I really enjoyed this place and I spend most of my daily hours there. Really tasty food but the best of all was the tiramisu.

We visited Diafani for 4 days and decided to eat at La Gorgona on the first night . The decoration is plain yet inviting , the food is all cooked and served by the owner a lovely Italian lady . The dishes were nothing fancy just well cooked tasty food !! Also as an animal lover I noticed that she... More

The desert was not as good as the review books raved, nor the coffee, considering the place is Italian. It was not terrible, but neither good.

Wonderful small restaurant in Diafani - its almost the first you pass as you walk from the ferry quay. Lovely view over the harbour/bay. On the second night we watched the excitement of the ferry arriving in a small Greek port. Good choice of food - Greek and Italian influence - nicely cooked, and always offered a complimentary pudding and/or... More

If you like mediterrenean cooking, you are at the right place. I remember well the spinach pie with parmigiano! Nice place for sitting and enjoying life.

I regularly spend long time in Northern Karpathos staying in my house in Olympos. La Gorgona or Gabriella's as i prefer to call it, is my favorite spot for any time of the day, either for hanging out with friends for a drink, coffee, lunch or dinner, or spending longer time working on my laptop, enjoying working from an 'office'... First of all: the almonds-chocolate cake is the best sweet I ever had in a restaurant. Secondly, the pasta with fresh tomatoes, olives and caperi is just gorgious. The daily menue is full of surprises and only reading makes you even more hungry and makes it difficult to decide. Gabriella, Gigi and Sophia are masters of the "Fusion" kitchen in... More

Description
la Gorgona is the only Italian restaurant in Karpathos Island. it's located in the main square in Diafani village, close to the fountain. 2 minutes walk from the pier and along the road to the ferry dock. A beautiful veranda in front of the sea for romantic moments and also chairs in the square to feel downtown :)Gabriella, the cook, offers both Italian and Greek food. As she says, she also offers "smart conversation"... A very nice place to eat, drink, reading a book listening to music or simply watching at the sea! Don't go away without asking for a dessert; all cakes are homemade, fresh every day. Let's also have a "limoncello" prepared with organic lemons from Diafani gardens. We accept reservations and prepare fish soup/seafood on demand. Free wifi.
