We spent the day at Lagoa Furnas and were excited to eat cozido. Unfortunately Tony's had run out of the dish, perhaps at lunch, since we were one of the first there for dinner. We then had to order off the menu. My husband and I ordered two separate dishes and I must confess they were just terrible!. We started... More

We liked this restaurant a lot. From the outside it looked almost deserted, but we climbed the stairs, and the place was jammed! Everybody (locals mostly) eating and talking and enjoying themselves. We chose to eat out on the terrace (balcony?) where it as quieter. This was lunch, so no couzido, but delicious soup and sandwich. The washroom was clean... More

We were to this restaurant because it was highly recommend. The cozido was only available with previous booking the day prior and therefore we have to ask for another meal. In his web page they don't state clearly that you have to book the cozido the day prior. We send an email to book the table thinking about the cozido... More

Reasonable price for an amazing gastronomic experience. We called early in the morning and only got a reservation for 3pm. They handle large groups, are often full, but still have time to walk around the tables asking if all is well. We went to Lagoa das Furnas earlier to see them taking the stew from the holes.

I was told that this was the place to go for couzido and although I would not call the dish gourmet, it is the thing to eat in the area and all in all a very god experience. The place had a lively atmosphere and the service was very good - felt well taken care of.

The meal was poor. Both my husbands and mine. Last year it was great!!. Will not go again. Nothing Azorean about the meal at all. Breaded and fried.

We had been recommended this restaurant so we booked a table, although there were plenty of spaces. When we sat down we were given only one menu between the 2 of us, for no apparent reason. We ordered two cozidos which is the local speciality. We did not like the dish - there was no sauce and the meat was... More

Food and service was outstanding had the couzido. Do not understand bad ratings as the four of us enjoyed the huge portions and a great assortment of meat veggies and great wine

It's not on the menu but you can ask for a half portion. Otherwise you probably want to share. Azorean steak was great!

We always like local eating experiences. Waiters very honest to inform on what is local fish and preparations. Suggestions for tuna and cozido were ok. Many wine choices. The day before had a cappuccino in lower level snack area. Enjoyed the experience and value.
