Excellent pub. Really friendly staff. Good little beer garden out back. The food is excellent. Restaurant quality at pub prices! Definitely worth a visit.

This has fast become our number one choice for pub food in the Truro area. The food is excellent, the staff can't do enough for you and the beers are good too. Would highly recommend, but you do need to book as it does get...More

Popped in on the off chance as we were passing. We had a lovely meal (2 courses), portions are generous and the food was really tasty and good value. Food atmosphere, clearly popular. Staff happy and friendly. Thumbs up!

Went here based on previous reviews here, however was disappointed. There's nothing awful about it but to me it lacked atmosphere and felt more like a cafe than a pub! It should work on paper as it's an olde world traditional pub but it just...More

Description
A pretty, thatched traditional pub and restaurant, the Punchbowl and Ladle has masses of character both inside and out. Parts of the building date back to the 15th century and during the 17th century it was a hostelry for travellers and mariners crossing the river Fal on the King Harry Ferry. Legend has it that part of the building was employed as a customs house, and the original fireplace in the bar was used to destroy confiscated contraband! Today, Graham & Jacqui Hill and their team welcome you warmly into the pub that has two bars, a large dining area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners for people to sit in comfort.
