Have been coming here for seven years or more. The food is always fantastic, with plenty of options usually available for vegetarians like us. Always enjoy the boureki, and the legumes/bean soup was a great recent discovery. A great place to watch the sun go down!

Piperia is a place with food cooked with love and care . The taste ie heavenly and the colours of the of the food are so bright that you do not doubt that they are organically grown. These days they are drying roses for a later use in herbal tea and traditional cretan sweets. The fragrance of roses was all... More

It's a great familial tavern with typical cretan food and drinks. I went many times and i will return. They're a nice family who cook and serve by them self, always with the smile. It's an excellent choice to have a great meal in a quite environment by the sea. I totally recommended it!

I reviewed this restaurant in 2014. It was as good last year. This year, however, things have changed and not for the better. The menu has changed and there's a lot more emphasis on specials, and a lot of hard selling to encourage diners to order one of the specials, rather than choose freely from the menu. This wouldn't be... More

Great Taverna selling organic food mostly sourced from their own farm. Best steaks in Kalives, if not Crete. Excellent choice of dishes with nightly specials. Efficient and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff and very busy which is always a good sign. You can choose to sit at a table on the beach or inside where you can still hear the waves! We chose the dish of the day which happened to be lamb. Can't say it was a good choice as it had to be eaten with our fingers to... More

I last reviewed this delightful beachside tavern in June 2013 and this September had the opportunity to re-visit it with my wife and two friends, which we did ... again and again. The food - all organic and much of it produced by the family - is excellent and the view from a terrace just above the beach looking out... More

Having read the reviews of Piperia I was delighted to find it was less than 200m from my accommodation. As others have said, the entrance to the taverna is understated, but then the best things in life often are. Quality shines through and doesn't need to be dressed up in a fancy wrapper! Fabulous location directly above their little stretch... More
