Reviewed yesterday NEW

An improvement since our last visit in September last year (no long strands of hair on my plates this time, which is in itself is worth an extra star, compared with my previous review). Welcomed (or not) by a slightly disinterested young man, we were seated in the refurbished downstairs area, which reminded me of the late lamented Ivory in... More

I have visited the newly refurbished Parsons Nose twice since it opened and loved both my visits. Two lovely girls served us, (i think they were called Darcey and Jill? Such friendly helpful staff!!!!!!) the new decor is brilliant and I love the new glass door entrance to the restaurant on the bottom floor. Food was A+ both times I... More

Parsons Nose used to be a favourite and I was really excited to try it after the refurb. The new interior is lovely but everything else is very disappointing. I visited a few weeks ago with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon. The service was poor even though there seemed to be enough staff available. The previous menu... More

I like the new menu. New extension and gardens are attractive. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. However - like in many modern restaurants - all the hard surfaces make for a very noisy room. Makes for a stressful, rather than relaxing experience. Waiting staff also very inexperienced. Next time I'll request the front bar. Much calmer.

Took my friend from England here last year and we wanted to try again after refurbishment. We were not disappointed. We shared the Brie starter which had loads of taste and we shared the homemade wheaten bread. Both had fish. Hake and monkfish. Both delicious with great flavour Only thing we noticed. The new doors into restaurant when opened blew... More

Visited here after reading mixed reviews on here. On arrival noticed the refurbishment. Good work there. However the service was terrible. Very slow and poorly organised. Menu looks like something that comes from a well known pub chain. All spread out on a large sheet, almost like an American diner (also noticed they didn't spell 'cheddar' as it was written... More

My husband and I had booked our table for 9pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were told that our table wasn't ready and were seated for a drink. A couple came in after us and were directly guided to their seats. 20 minutes later, we finally got the glass of wine and soft drink that we ordered... More

This was my first time back since the refurb and it is totally amazing! Fabulous design and layout now - the courtyard and outside dining area are terrific. Food is amazing - huge portions - couldn't even manage dessert as the mains were so big. A few minor issues with service but all in all a terrific dining experience. Will... More

First visit here since fairly major renovations have been carried out. We were seated in the new lower level restaurant which features a large wood-burning stove which was very much appreciated given the cold weather. Service was very prompt, our server was friendly and happy to give us extra time to chose from the varied menu. She pointed out the... More

This was my first visit visit since the big refit. The decor is now light and airy and is a success in my opinion. The food and staff are as good as usual. We had the Sunday lunch, everything was lovely except the potstickers which were drenched in a very salty soy dressing and were deep fried! My pork chop... More
