Our family took us here for dinner and the food was amazing!! We had fresh bread, roasted potatoes, Swiss chard?, Chicken And other types of meat and giant ravioli that are special to this region of Italy. Molto Bené!!!
This family restaurant has fresh local food cooked very well and very good house wine. Private parking and reasonable prices. I would recommend it.
We were on a road trip in Molise and looking for a place to have lunch and some locals recommended this place to us. What an unexpected surprise. It's a lovely space, pet and kid friendly. The food was wonderful and our server, Angela, was...SO INCREDIBLE! She made the experience even more amazing. We wanted to take Angela come with us!!More
We had lunch here mid September and the place was empty which gave the chef a chance to come and talk to us. Being vegetarians we chose a bean soup and mushroom risotto. The chef had personally picked a truffle that morning so we have...shavings of a truffle. The picture shows half a portion as we shared.More
nice place to get away surrounded by nature. Extensive wine list and wonderful home made grappa and genziana. The food is prepared with hand harvested mushrooms and truffles and cooked all to perfection. home made pasta and spectacular desserts. Attention to detail , abundant dishes...and amazing prices for such high quality!!!!! Will return!!!!More
We first heard about Chef Stefano Rufo last year when he was competing in an Italy-wide cooking competition... and won! We happened to be staying in the village where the chef's family is from, so we couldn't wait to eat at his restaurant. The meal...was simply amazing. Chef Rufo is attentive and made us feel most welcome. Every plate was superb; vegetarians and vegans would be well-served. Last night we returned for another incredible meal, and then tonight we tried the pizza (served Friday through Sunday only) and loved it. I especially appreciate going to an owner-chef restaurant who works his own magic in the kitchen. This restaurant is one I pine for when I'm back home and I can't recommend it highly enough. Solicitous service, extraordinary cuisine, great wines and reasonable prices will keep us coming back for more.More
I visit this part of Italy often and know this area well as I often go to Lago di Castel San Vincenzo which is nearby. A local recommended this restaurant and what a surprise I got. All the food served was fresh and home made...including the bread and desserts. The food is served with passion and they have managed to give a modern appearance to traditional foods of the area. The chef takes great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. Amazing pasta! Very excited to go back and sample some of the other skilfully prepared dishes on offer. All the food was reasonably priced and didn't make a hole in my pocket. The menu had a wide selection and there was something for everyone. They also had a large selection of wonderful wines from all over Italy (varying prices). My advice is go out of your way to eat here, you will not be disappointed.More
We know the area very well but after many years, someone recommended this restaurant. I was surprised that they have been here 10 years. The food was delicious and we would have payed much , much, more if this had been in a capital city....Their food is CAPITAL. We will be back often, when visiting this area.More
Now after driving around south Italy for two weeks after our first stop at this place, this still remains the best. Amazing pasta and great tagliata. House wine was also superb. Not at all too expensive.
The restaurant is at the end of a short winding road hidden from the main road. It has a beautiful view from the outside towards the mountain and valley. Inside, it was cozy and nicely but simply decorated. Menu was great and had lots of...offerings. The chef spoke good english and personally came out to help us order our dishes. Food was very nice and service was fantastic. I had the ghitara which was really tasty and fresh, and served with some of the tastiest and spiciest chilli you can find in Italy. I highly recommend this restaurant.More
Very interesting menu with typical dishes and peculiar variation to traditional recipes that are difficult to taste in other places. Very casual and familiar atmosphere. It's quit dififcult to arrive but it's worthwhile. To be reccomended for a lunch or dinner during the weekend when...you have time to spent to have a long and relaxing meal with friends or family. The other tourist hotspots in the area (e.g. lake, stables) are additional benefits for a relaxing day in the countryside.More
This place was kind of remote; you have to go down a long, dark, winding road for some time to reach it. But it's worth the trip; it is has a wonderful, warm, "family" atmosphere. We got seated immediately, and were promptly provided with a...huge, fresh bread basket. I INHALED the breadbasket. And so began my feeding frenzy. I became momentarily distracted when I head that old familiar sound of ...THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE wafting over from another table. I was surprised because I hadn't noticed many non-Italian tourists in that region. But here were few British patrons and some other Americans. It was a nice surprise, and while the staff doesn't speak English very well, it doesn't matter since they are very friendly and welcoming/ accommodating to tourists. OK, now back to the FOOD: The dishes seemed to be local specialties and I had SO MUCH TO EAT I don't even know why I didn't explode. They have a good local wine selection too and they even gave us home-made baba cake and doughnuts (yes, DOUGHNUTS) for dessert. They have good vegetarian/vegan options too. In fact my favorite thing that I had there was vegetarian, and sounds unusual (to a New Yorker at least) but it was DELICIOUS: the walnut bruschetta! It had fresh, ground-up walnuts on it (there are a lot of walnut trees in that region) and it was SO FREAKIN' GOOD. Also (vegetarian): great roasted vegetables! We got these humongous Ravioli (raviolone) that were very good and fresh too. But don't worry, carnivores; I ate many meats and cheeses that night as well (they have a nice, big antipasti plate), I don't even know how I did it, but I had like 7 courses. I just kept eating because everything was so damn good. I think I gained a dress-size in one sitting. I'm getting hungry now thinking about it!! I am definitely going again (several times) next year.More
Maybe being that I am Italian it takes a bit more to impress me but this place was average. The food was good, it's hard to get bad food in Italy but a bit too pricey for what it is. I would not drive out...of my way to go here again.More
Excellent menu choices, with many options specific to the area. Tastes were subtle and varied, with pleasant service that strove to please.
