En route home from Elba we stayed in Asti country, what a place, the views are to die for. But we needed somewhere to eat so our guest from our b+b suggested this place as it was only a 20-minute walk, so we walked and we had a time finding it at first as it is hidden in a brewery, you have to enter a farm and look around to find it, anyway we did and sat down. We were greeted by a nice young lady who sat us down and said it was a set menu, a proper Italian meal, with a red or white wine carafe, so we said yes to it for 5. Well, where do you start, now remember, you are in Europe and they never rush so you have time to chat, no phones, and drink. The first course was aplate of three cheese pieces, a spinich dish that looked like a flombay, four sorts of meats and some side salad, oh and the wine arrived, and water. The second course was homemade ravioli with spinach and butter served by the waitress from a huge dish so you could say how much you required, but it was melt-in-your-mouth stuff, and we drank more wine. The third course was Tagliatelle cooked in a broth of some sort but you could taste the meat and sweetness of the butter and other flavourings, again served by the waitress, and more wine, by this time the carafe was empty so another arrived, remember, the carafe is part of the meal so you don't pay extra. The fourth course, and by now we were starting to get stuffed, was roast potatoes with loins of pork cooked very slowly so it melts in your mouth, again served by the waitress and by this time not a lot was put on my family plates because we didn't know how many courses there were, but I ate it anyway and it was beautiful, oh and the wine was drunk. The fifth course was dessert with a selection of either ice cream or cheesecake or both together and coffee, AND WINE. To say that this was an experience is true, a proper Italian restaurant that was not full but busy, hidden in the middle of a beautiful landscape.

Visiting the area for a group Pilate retreat @pilatesbodycenter and this was recommended as a nearby place to get dinner. They were very responsive to my reservation request and suggested a Prix fix meal. What a wonderful meal for a great price! They even accommodated a vegetarian in my group without notice. Great house wine too!

In strict compliance with Piedmontese tradition, immersed in the hills of Monferrato, this trattoria offers exquisite dishes: mixed appetizers, homemade first courses with egg pasta, world-class plin and tajarin!!! Second courses such as braised meats of very tender Fassona. Efficient staff and excellent service on time. Well done… keep it up.

Place with a very nice panoramic view, mediocre cuisine. I expected more given the positive reviews There were 20 of us and unfortunately they made us pay for the bitters, which you usually don't pay in other places.. Very expensive children's menu for what they give, worth seeing again... in my opinion you can't get lost and charge 6 bitters to 20 people who have just left you 500 euros!!!

Lovely 5-course menu with both red and white wine from our own vineyard. Super betjening The pastry recipes get into large dishes, and then they fill up until you tell yourself. Really a super experience. And the price is crazy. Under 500 DKK for 2 men. It's crazy cheap. All worth the money

Incredible to have found anything but the reviews read. Although we love the genuine and homely places, we did not find care, atmosphere and great food. We ate inside due to weather, dated space, a bit cramped and neglected with unpleasant smells and humidity. Although he loves dogs, he may not like that he is free between tables approaching diners (large dog). Formalism aside, mediocre cuisine compared to the area where you eat well almost everywhere. Undercooked potatoes, meat a bit hard, the typical breadsticks definitely gone for days (first and only place where we ate them so after so many restaurants tried between Langhe and Monferrato). Except: the friendly family-run staff, partly the appetizer with typical products although scarce and little choice of cold cuts (only fat, salami and loin). The rest to review, simplicity is fine but here you feel neglect.

from the evening of October 31st to breakfast on November 1st we were guests of the farmhouse with the same name: excellent environment, very clean rooms. And then, top restaurant for food quality and portions, very good service. Finally, very honest price. What does it have to do with it? Ugo? Ugo is the "mascot" dog who wanders between tables to be pampered

Easily reachable from Canelli and well signposted even on the road. Spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable room; very large bathroom. Buffet breakfast with many homemade products (cakes, jams). I also enjoyed the restaurant for dinner: everything was really delicious, including the wine!

Weekend in the Langhe with a couple of friends and daughters between 6 and 8 years old. We had dinner and stayed overnight in this splendid farmhouse. Never was a more appropriate choice, a sublime dinner! And then dear parents.. when the girls finished eating they went up to the room to play.. And we enjoyed a completely relaxing dinner! Rich and abundant breakfast and after a wonderful visit to their cellars with the very kind landlady, we returned home with a beautiful 35 liter demijohn of their excellent wine! Prices more than honest, friendliness and kindness at the top. Overall, I rate it 10+! Thanks for everything ❤️

Spectacular place surrounded by vineyards. A special appreciation to burp the staff especially to Alessia who from the first moment welcomed us with a smile on her face. Really high value for money. At an excellent level dinner with the possibility of a fixed price or Ă  la carte menu. The Owner also allowed us to see the bottling w explained what it means to have a vineyard like theirs. We stayed really well and as soon as possible I will definitely return. THANK YOU

After a long walk under the burning sun, we arrived here for the best summer salad (tomato, mozarella di bufala, melon, parma ham, vitello tonato…) and an amazing cold prosecco from their own wineyard. Super friendly. Highly recommand. Beautiful view is just an extra. Love this place!

I have visited Vecchio Torchio many times but not got around to reviewing it so far. It is simply a must visit if you are in the area but make sure you are hungry! For €25 you get a menu of 3 anti pasti, 2 primi and a main and desert. You also get litre jugs of red and white wine - normally Barbera or Chardonnay and naturale and frizzante water, all are topped up on request. The food is excellent and seconds always offered for each course. Well cooked local dishes follow salami, cheese and fried focaccia with condiments. We had one vegetarian in our group of 5 who was offered a meat free alternative course and for the main freshly cooked one of the options given to her - in this case a vegi burger with potatoes. The staff are always extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful explains the menu and regularly offer alternatives if someone doesn’t like something. It is out in the country so I would recommend a designated driver. I can’t recommend highly enough and will return yet again in the near future.

We walked up and up and up from town on market day. Arriving at 13.00 it was very quiet, in fact we appeared to be the only customers. A very friendly welcome in Italian and English and we opted or the full offering of three antipasti, two primo, one secondo, a dessert and coffee and wine for 25€. Immediately a litre of naturalle and a litre of frizzante water was placed on the table and replenished throughout the meal. For every course we were offered second helpings. The half litre of home produced Barbera was very good. All the food was fresh and nicely presented and Piedmontese, we could not have wanted for better. A delight.
