A quiet evening in Canelli. And then you find this place to eat.
This restaurant is different in many ways.
Not a piemontese cuisine, but a genovese one which means the chef prepares the meals from their heritage : fish as an appetizer, primi is a day's sepcial with risotto and squid, as main dish the catch of the day : sea bass. And here it comes : because we were undecided to go for the fish bianca or genevose style, the chef proposed to prepare half - half. What a delight it was : one fish, two tastings.
Before we forget to desbribe the family vibe : the dad was reviewing the 9-year old son's homework at the end of the service, in the very same way as we had experienced our meal : with care, with a smile and with diligence. Great place to come back.

Strolling aroundin Canelli looking for a place to eat we stumbled upon Villa Chiara. Outdoor seating under ceiling so sort of half and half, but a nice breeze in the heat.
It turned out the restaurant was specialising in Ligurian sea food which at first felt a bit strange but on second thoughts, Canelli is not very far from the Ligurian coast...
Friendly service and we really liked the pizza-like Ligurian specialties, especially the one with Pesto Genovese.
Good value, good service and good food, in good company. What more can you ask for on a Tuesday evening?...

There was a large group of us for dinner (10) and everyone was so impressed by this wonderful restaurant. The setting is lovely and atmosphere very relaxed and friendly, the staff focusing on you having a wonderful time and enjoying delicious food and wine, from start to finish. We all had a delicious dinner, the quality of menu, cooking and ingredients was superb and I would highly recommend this restaurant to any visitors.

This is one of our favourite restaurant around Canelli. You can eat really fresh fish, prepared in an excellent way. The staff is very kind and nice, the wine is good and the atmosphere is great. Next time you are in Canelli, don't miss it.

We have stayed at Villa Chiara twice now and each time we have eaten at the restaurant several times. You always get great food here. Never fails to disappoint. I couldn't go past the steak fillet or salmon. Divine.

We had a great meal, cooked by the charming Chiara.
Everything is fresh, tasteful and original.
You can eat outside or inside in a charming restaurant in the center of Canelli.

We had a fantastic meal with friends at Villa Chiara. We were greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco and an amuse bouche. The food was amazing, great starters, they even brought a tray of fish for me to choose the one I wanted for my main course. Panna Cotta with pistachio was so yummy. The staff are very friendly and the chef is fantastic. Great ambience, they had a fire on as it was chilly that night. We were even given a limoncello / grappa with our coffee, a wonderful night.
