Working lunch with client. Good quick service, 15 minute wait for food, fine. Recommend the chicken schnitzel. With drinks I think it was £30 approx which is OK.

We stayed at the campsite next door in early August. We were a bit late getting but they managed to find us a table. Service was friendly, food was great and not at all pricey. Having key to get in the side gate from the...More

We agreed to meet friends here for lunch. Last time the service was slow, they are a busy pub but seem unable to employ sufficient staff at busy times. We ordered 3x sandwiches and a fish and chips. It shouldn't take an hour to produce...More

Popped in today to give this place a try and although the food was ok the salmon was more a starter than a main and when paying full main prices you really expect more. Location is great, very busy and a good atmosphere. Going by...More

Thank you for your review, we constantly match our prices to the local competition, bearing in mind that we are a destination pub. Most of our staff are highly educated and I can assure you polite at all times. Thank you once again.

Stopped here for late lunch after cycling 25 miles, it was fun carrying the bikes across the lock, the only way in from the canal towpath. Brilliant location with large outside seating area some of which is covered. Service and food was good. Sunday roast...More

Has there been a change of management? We just visited for Sunday lunch and although the location, beer and service are all still good (well it's hard to change a location I guess), the food wasn't really up to much I'm afraid. I had roast...More

This canalside pub serves up hearty food, traditional ales and wonderful views over the water. Located beside Lock 28 of the Grand Union Canal, it's a shining example of a great English local pub.
