One of the best restaurants in Kata. GREAT food, attentive service, location during the day and night, right on the beach .The chef has really personal approach to every of his clients. His dishes have amazing flavours and presentation. The canapes before our meals were a real treat amd surprise. For those who have a sweet tooth the desserts our sensational. Check out the Friday and Saturday deals great set menus incl.free flow drinks. We will be back. Thank you Chef Jonathan and Pinyo.

It has been a while since I went back to the Boathouse, despite I Know it's brilliant Chef Jonathan Bruell. So last Friday I packed up my family and gave it a try. I heard so much good about the wine luncheon on Friday which is a three course luncheon with a choice of house or premium wines. I do not want to release the cost as I want you to go there. Needless to say, the view is stunning. We sat outside and this time, and due to this horrible virus, there were not so many people around. Usually, however, it packs up quickly. It's a "deal" you cannot pass. The first course, a Artichoke soup with fresh local Chanterelles was sublime. Then followed a Burger that was so unique in taste, it should be in any cook book. It was a truly Thai burger but with all the Western trimmings one needs. Chef Jonathan outdid himself , one more time , and lately is a master of Patisserie, for which he seems to have a deep passion and creativity. Not usual for an Executive Chef to discover the sweet side . Again, WOW ! My wife wanted to take multiple samples home. I settled for the little side of White Chocolate , Corn Flakes brittles which were simply incredible , says the man who is not into sweets. Very nice setting, great food, service was very good and the wines (I chose the Premium ones) fantastic. Try it out, in this time where most are closed, I am delighted to see that many venture out for a good meal, Keep distance, wear masks, sanitize, The staff does, for sure, in Chef Bruell's Restaurant, you are safe and certainly spoiled to get top quality for what I would say very reasonable price. Go and try. You won't regret.

The Boathouse restaurant has it all - views, fantastic food, great service & a Friday Lunch deal not to miss. It had been awhile since us girls had gotten together (COVID-19 restrictions) so we wanted to go somewhere nice & I am so pleased we choose The Boathouse. Friday Lunch they have a 3 course meal deal with wine & I can honestly say you won’t find better value. I had the Beef Carpaccio for entree followed by Thai Spiced Lamb Fillet finishing up with a double chocolate brownie. The food was fantastic, right amount of seasoning, lamb cooked perfectly & then melt in your mouth chocolate. The service staff were attentive without being intrusive. The setting is perfect. We will definitely be going back sooner rather than later. Thank you chef Jonathan & team.

We visited The Boathouse in 2001 and the meal that evening rates as one of the top 5 in my life. Things have changed since. Phuket has become commercialised to the point of the Spanish Costas. Lots of cheap and cheerful restaurants trying to make ends meet, some more successfully than others, whilst others have chased the higher end market. Even in 2001 The Boathouse was high end but tonight’s meal left us feeling underwhelmed. We had the Saturday wine & dine consisting of salmon starter, soup, Massaman chicken & stollen with ice cream. Considering we are not dessert lovers that was the best thing on the menu. The salmon had little flavour, the soup was ok, though the bowl was way hotter than the soup and the Massaman was trying to be too clever for its own good, the twist on the dish didn’t work for us. As per previous, the dessert was excellent.
We did a “free flow” wine included in the meal and after a little confusion where we were told Prosecco wasn’t included in the deal despite being emailed to the contrary, we ended up having several glasses of not too shabby sparkling then moved on to the “premium” wine which was unpalatable.
All in all, as an experience it was nice to visit a high end restaurant amongst the chaff of the local area, however, after making the effort to dress as per the code stated by the restaurant it was disappointing to dine amongst those who felt they were above the dress code and could get by with beachwear, flip flops & baseball caps.
Tonight was our last night and we did enjoy the experience but wouldn’t rate the value as highly.

The service in this restaurant is outstanding ; the staff could not be more attentive and friendly. Jonathan, the chef takes a personal interest in his diners :he makes recommendations, prepares food to individual taste and will fulfil requests. He brought us canapes as we were sipping our aperitif at the bar!
The menu has a wide range of Asian and Western dishes: there is something to suit every palate.Food is thoughtfully sourced and exquisitely prepared with attention to the smallest detail.
Kata Beach, over which the restauarant looks, is lively, providing entertainment at breakfast and spectacular sunsets at dinner. There is a genial atmosphere in the restaurant making our dining experience first class.

A truly wonderfully sophisticated, but sufficiently casual beach side restaurant to feel at ease and take in the stunning views. The menu is excellent, serving both European and Thai....all deliciously prepared by Exec Chef Johnathan Bruell and his highly professional team. Even better....should you require a special dish, with a little notice Jonathan will happily do this for you! We cannot recommend The Boathouse Restaurant enough, as not only is the cuisine delicious, with an extensive wine choice.....the staff are exceptionally helpful and attentive.

Memorable and romantic setting looking out on Kata Beach. The canapes were especially delicious followed by an excellent green fish curry. Affable chef Jonathan came over to check if all was well. It was indeed, an absolute delight! Meals can be adapted to personaly requirements - nothing is too much trouble for the genial staff.
One thing that spoil the tranquility was the intermittent explosion of fireworks on the beach only a few meters away. Authorities need to put an end to this illegal activity.

Two days ago Phuket's governor announced, after a booze ban that lasted several weeks, that restaurants could once more serve alcohol. Come the 1st October, the new rules applied. The excitement was palpable. The prospect of a glass or two of wine with lunch a reality.
Unsurprisingly the island's number one beachside restaurant, The Boathouse Phuket, received a frantic flurry bookings for its famous 'Weekend Wine Lunch' – without doubt the best value deal on Phuket, combining Chef Jonathan's renowned set menus with amazing value and Jonathan's very personal touch. Let's face it, at 1,399 baht++ for two generous courses and two hours of premium wine pouring in one of the best settings on the island is unbeatable.
The restaurant was busy, with many familiar faces making the most of a return to near-normality. We both decided to forego starters of Fresh Fig Truffle Honey and Goats Cheese Curd or sautéed Andaman White Prawns with Garlic and Chili, knowing that three courses were more than we could handle.
Nevertheless an unexpected 'amuse bouche' of chicken liver pate and gazpacho arrived, we guessed, to celebrate this auspicious occasion. We both opted for the main course of Grilled Calf's Liver and Caramelised Onion Mash. Tasty, tender and ample – and accompanied by a very fine Syrah Gran Monte Heritage – this kept us occupied and left us in need of a lengthy wine break before the cheese course.
A surprisingly generous selection of cheeses were served with honey and beautifully displayed within a glass bell cloche. But the small slivers of Melba toast really didn't work for me but never mind; a quick word with Chef Jonathan and some delightfully fresh French bread materialised in the nick of time. This is where The Boathouse restaurant really scores. Jonathan prides himself on giving his guests what they want, not what he thinks they should have – and it makes all the difference.
Delighted to have The Boathouse wine lunches back on the island calendar. See you next week.

Our party of four had the pleasure to visit the restaurant and experience their Captain’s Table, or Chef’s Table, on the second floor of the restaurant.
The menu designed by Chef Jonathan, alongside with the wines carefully selected by their Sommelier, was stunning beyond belief.
I particularly enjoyed the risotto, and all proteins we got were cooked to perfection!
Boathousse is a restaurant well-worth visiting if you end up in the area of Kata, and it certainly lives up to its 5-star standards.

ate here recently with my wife lovely setting but a mixed experience was seated at our table straight away i enquired if there was a happy hour on and was told yes for 2 hours but not at the table only at the bar area. . surely if theres a happy hour on first tell people on arrival and it should apply whereever you sit in the reasturant.
i had the grouper fillet which was excellent my wife tried the local thai chicken curry which had to be send back as the meat was unedible
overall a nice place but if they are charging premium prices the service and food should match

Nice food, lovely duck and sea bass. Annoying stray cat that attacked my sons under the table because it wasn’t being fed scraps. Left one with a sore toe and one with a sore knee. Staff were oblivious despite one staff member petting the cat and thus encouraging it just prior. Desserts were over complicated in flavour and really needed to be simplified. You REALLY need to consider the price of your wines which is beyond ridiculous for poor quality wines.

The Boathouse is a Phuket institution that lives up to its excellent reputation.
The staff are personable and Head Chef goes out of his way to meet the customers. A nice and rare touch these days.
The view of Kata Beach is world class. A truly lovely spot where you can dress up for an occasion or feel that beach vibe.
I thoroughly recommend the signature dishes!

Right on the lovely Katanoi beach. It was easy access from our hotel, so we ended up having lunch (Thai menu) as well as evening dinner (choice of Thai or western menu). Top quality cuisine and service.

Our visit to the Boathouse was thoroughly enjoyable. The service was excellent, staff were friendly, polite and attentive. The food was amazing! The menu was extensive, with plenty of choice for all tastes. Every meal that came to the table was delicious- there was a group of 8 friends.

We have a really nice dinner here one of our nights in Phuket. The food was top draw quality and the wine list was excellent. Staff were attentive and the food came to our table in a timely manner.
Our only gripe was that the wine was really expensive compared to other places we ate on the island.
