Quality of Italian cuisine was good, but for me portions were rather large (but big eaters would be happy). Service was okay but rather indifferent. Very convenient to our hotel, neighbouring excellent massage place and the the Katanoi beach.

Wonderful Italian experience

Wonderful Italian food, we had pasta with zucchini and prawns and it was very high quality and authentic. Place gets very busy so suggest you book ahead. When we sat down we saw many italians eating here. Owner is warm, honest and hard working (he suggested we share one pasta dish between our young kids where he could have just let us order double the dishes). Will visit regularly as there are so mamy items i want to get through!

Hidden gem worth a try

Lovely Italian hidden off the main strip. Very busy and we had to wait for a table, could only get inside when we arrive, however as soon as a space outside was available we were able to move. Portion sizes are good and cooked perfectly with lots of flavour in the ingredients. Very fairly priced too

Shocked by one waitress but overall good

I think the food is delicious, but the service.... A manager was friendly and asked me if I wanted to share the pasta. It's really good. However, before leaving we ordered one Americano and a waitress served two. Maybe it’s a communication gap and was not a big problem. To avoid embarrassment, I wanted to leave that cup of coffee. The waiter’s attitude shocked us a lot. She kept saying it was our fault, and her head never returned. Anyway total is good. I like the seafood pasta and tiramisu.

Italian restaurant highly recommended! After 10 days of Thai cuisine, however appreciated by my husband and I, we came across this restaurant in the Kata Beach area. We were welcomed by Claudio who knew how to do the honors very well, making us feel a little closer to our Italy. The dishes are characterized by fresh food cooked to perfection. The cooking of pasta, often a major drawback of Italian restaurants abroad, has been overcome in a big way. We chose fettuccine with crab that were delicious on the palate and still smelled of the sea. Even meat, certainly preserved and cooked properly. Hygiene standards are significantly higher than the Thai average and this is not to offend the authenticity of the place, but after several days even if you are traveling with children, being able to feel closer to home represents an added value.

We have We took a very generous portion of chips which we appreciated and a pizza each, the pizza is toasted and is really good, perfect ingredients. We needed some real food after 10 days of Thai. And finally we ate with cloth napkins as we are used to in Italy, which is not a given here given that they put tissue paper instead of napkins.

The true Italian would cry

We came to this restaurant for lunch. Ordered lasagna, vongole pasta and spicy salami pizza. Lasagna was pretty good. But pizza and pasta were terrible. This dishes had no taste. Pizza was like stale bread. If you’ve ever been to Italian restaurant you know how delicious Italian food can be. Don’t spoil your meal in this place.

We were ready for your review. The hysterical behavior you had after complaining because you found a few empty clams shells (The clams where in your dish under our eyes) was a clear indication that this was going to happen. I went so far to offer you a different dish but you refused with your graceful manners. Even your partner looked embarrassed by your behavior. By the way thank you for the pictures, they actually show how nice and tasty our pizza and pasta are.. Cheers

We've already been to the establishment 2 times + 1 order for takeaway pizza. Everything is very delicious! So far we have tried 7 dishes: pasta, soup, gnecki, appetizers, pizza, everything is delicious! The portions are large, three dishes for two, you can eat up! The cocktails are good. The bread served with appetizers and soup is superb! No Thai spices. On the tables there is olive oil, balsamic, black pepper, and salt. If you are tired of Thai food, or your stomach simply cannot digest it, then this is the place for you. We are glad that they are near our hotel

Authentic Italian food with an Italian owner/manager on site. Pineapple Hawaiian pizza was available (reluctantly according to the owner)…. Good pizza, good pasta, even the burger was good. Friendly staff. Good service.

Pizza at its finest

Today I didn't fancy Thai food, I just wanted pizza. Starter: tomato mozzarella salad, bruschetta, then pizza. After the meal I have to say that some pizzerias in Switzerland could learn from this. Everything was perfect from the starter to the pizza. If you fancy a pizza, this restaurant is the place to be! I'll be happy to come back again and again.

Husband had the spagetti allo scoglio and i had the carbonara. One of the best italian restaurant's we have ever dined at. The service was impeccable. You would swear the chef was Italian but she is actually Thai! We ate here a couple of nights during our holiday in Kata. Can't wait to go back!

Decided to go here after reading some favorable reviews, and was not disappointed. Very friendly staff, the restaurant was nicely laid out and very clean and tidy. Food portions are good and prices are reasonable,remember you get what you pay for. We both had pizzas, probably the best pizzas we have ever had, if you are in Kata then you must visit and to be honest it's worth visiting wherever you are in Phuket. Finished with a very rich chocolate ice cream, yum. Had a chat with the owner who is really friendly and passionate about his restaurant, food and staff as you would expect from an Italian.

Owner lovely guy who worked his socks off as did his staff in this popular restaurant.The food was presented well and absolutely delicious! I had seafood linguine, it probably had the most seafood of any I’ve ever had. My husband had pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed. Couldn’t manage a dessert but sure they’ll be lovely too.

Fabulous pizza

We visited this restaurant twice during our six night stay in Kata. We are very fussy about our pizzas and this restaurant serves the most delicious thin based pizzas from a wood fired oven. My wife voted it the nicest pizza we have ever eaten and it was hard to disagree!

Amazing Food and Friendly Servers

Dining at Gastone was overall an amazing experience. We liked the food and service so much that we went for 2 of our 3 nights in Phuket. The best part was the amazing chocolate gelato, which was the best we had ever tasted, including in Italy. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in Phuket.
