We were advised to book a table at this friendly pub/restaraunt, and we're glad we did as its really popular with the locals! The staff are very friendly without being overly so, and the food was delicious. It was served piping hot, and very flavoursome. The chocolate brownie was to die for. We returned the following day after a long... More

In late September 2016 my husband and I ate here on his birthday. The starter of mushrooms was full of dirt as they had not been washed before cooking. My meal of cod was so over cooked it was totally dried up. My husband's duck breast was just slapped on the plate and not cut. The presentation was poor so... More

We are always upset to read bad reviews on the Chetnole as we all work very hard and try to ensure all the customers have an enjoyable time, as you can see from the vast majority of reviews we accomplish this most of the time. We can remember your visit and the issue with the mushrooms which as you say... More

Never have I eaten a better Sunday Roast in any other pub or restaurant. Everything on the plate was perfect. It all tasted home cooked! The beef was tasty, moist and delicious, the vegetables perfectly al dente, the gravy superb, the Roast Potatoes were crunchy and perfectly soft and fluffy in the middle. Great care goes into the cooking here,... More

Took the family for lunch, we were given a large table, so plenty of room for the children to play. The staff were friendly and very professional. We have eaten there before in the evening and as expected the food was out of this world. Hot and full of flavour. Good to know that we were eating locally sourced food... More

Just been for for dinner at the chetnole inn as we have done many times. I can't express how good the the service food and ambience is. The whole pub and location is beautiful. Staff polite and helpful . Food 1st class and at a resonable price. Can't promote it any more. If your in the area it's a must.

We have enjoyed a drink in this pub's lovely garden on many occasion, it being close to where we live. It's only recently that we have eaten here. We used to frequent another local pub in Thornford, but that came to an end after the rude landlords upset our whole family (long story) Well, we have been missing out big... More

We had a lovely meal here. I was particularly impressed with the very fresh ingredients, unfussy but careful presentation and the quality of the cooking. A varied and enticing menu, there was plenty to choose from for everyone in our party. No one was disappointed. One of the best meals I've had for a while. Thank you!

We stopped here for lunch having found it listed in the sawday's pub guide app. The food was very good, menu had a good selection. Service was bit slow, staff distracted by other factors.

The chetnole is a country inn boasting a good range of real ales. An inventive menu is complimented by a wide selection of wines. We have a lovely beer garden for those nice sunny days and log burners for the cold winter nights
