When staying near Talkin over the hill a favourite way of spending a day with my family is for us to take a walk up the hills, and return via the road to Castle Carrock to rewards ourselves with some refreshment. (Although, make sure to check the opening hours of the kitchen if you want to make sure you can... More

Was 'ok' After asking for two dishes and being told they are not defrosted I opted for two basic sandwiches. Sandwiches were 'ok', lovely staff, great location but wouldn't go there for anything more than a pint and sandwich.

The choice for pudding was good and they were tasty although some of the portions were a little small. In summary, it was OK, slightly expensive for an... More

We had the stir fried vegetables and the strawberry cider. Both were lovely but there were a lot of flies!
