First of all the cool entrance from the water ferry is an incredible first impression not to be disappointed by the incredible food. Appetizer of make your own spring rolls was not only delicious but fun and interactive. We went with Thai items for dinner. Whole fried grouper, pad Thai in egg blanket and chicken fried rice, all delicious. Definitely... More

Had dinner here on my last night in Thailand while staying at a hotel near the airport. The slate hotel easily made us reservations ahead of time via email. The arrival to the restaurant was such an experience being pulled over on a barge via a pond. Very cool. Ambiance once inside was also very cool with dark lights and... More

When we arrived here I was wondering: how could the food top the amazing decor and atmosphere in this place? Well, for me, it did!

Food at the Black Ginger was very good, as was the service. It has an unusual floating bridge which you need to cross to get to the restaurant. The only negative is that the lighting inside needs to be brighter.

The torch lit ride across the water was a great start and set the scene for the evening. We had cocktails and snacks before we were taken to our table. Towels to freshen up were offered. The menu was extensive and we had the highly recommended spring rolls which our waitress showed us how to do. They were delicious and... More

Visited Black Ginger on 16th Feb during a stay at the Slate and enjoyed an excellent dinner. Gorgeous setting, beautiful lighting, excellent service. Enjoyable bit of theatre with the ferry ride over to the restaurant. But most of all it was the fabulous food that made for a special evening. Some people say it's expensive and in comparison to prices... More

We had a wonderful experience organising our wedding dinner for 30 people in September 2016. We are regular goers to Phuket and have found former Indigo Pearl (now The Slate) in 2014 where we had a great family dinner ordering a 9 course tasting menu. Not only we fell in love with the cousins but the venue itself as well.... More
