A good indication of a good place to eat in Thailand is normally the places that are very busy and that is frequented by local people. The Red Onion is a good example of this. Every night we walked past as it was full and had people waiting for a table so we went somewhere else until one night when... More

Cheap meal and very tasty food. Always had a lineup of people waiting to be seated. The restaurant was recommended to us and didn't disappoint

I am flabbergasted as to why there is a line outside this joint. I found the food there to be mediocre at best and it was definitely not sanitary because I saw roaches scrambling about beneath some of the tables and flies buzzing about.

It is very popular and often a queue and I wondered if there was some conspiracy for all locals to recommend this place? It does have an extensive menu but I think I summed it up in the title of this review. I'm sure there's better out there but this is clearly 'tried and true' and if the locals recommend... More

We tried Red Onion as there was always a line up to get in & we heard from others the food was good. We enjoyed all our Thai dishes and I think the main attraction here is tasty food along with cheap prices. Would definitely recommend.

After seeing the large queue and being told that this place is stunning, finally decided to try to have lunch there. Were seated after a 10 minute wait because the lady cleaning the table didn't rush at all and didn't care that their customers were standing under the burning sun. When we wanted to place our order, we tried to... More

There are ridiculous queues daily. When you taste the food you will understand why. Service however is poor and staff look totally harassed and are unfriendly especially by Thai standards

We visited this place through recommendation by a local trader. It's difficult to find as the sign is poor but you can spot it by the queues of people waiting outside the restaurant. The food is amazing, fresh and very reasonably priced. A little hidden gem worth waiting for!

Has great reviews online so we chose to join the lengthy queue one night. After dealing with the 30 minute line up, the surly waitress finally deigned to take our order ( I speak thai so this wasn't a foreigner thing). When the food came it was adequate at best. Nothing special and for sure not worth the internet hype.... More
