Popped in here after somewhere else we visited first was fully booked, we were not disappointed. The food was good, staff were friendly and beer was plentiful. I had sirloin steak which was £17.25 plus £3 for a sauce, it was well cooked and portion size was good.

I have reviewed the Crown Inn a couple of times. This time it was different: swift service, good food, altogether better than previous visits. Previously it was always a puzzle why, with a brand new extended kitchen food took so long to arrive. Not now, so perhaps the staff have changed - for the better! Waitress was cheerful, quick &... Booked in here for two nights late Nov to be able to visit the Eden Project, which is only around 15 mins drive away. We arrived in the dark and our satnav took us down some very narrrow lanes but we arrived unscathed. The pub is very old, parts are 14th century I think, and our accommodation was in a... More

We visit the Crown Inn every time we stay in the area and both the service and food are consistently good. The 'bar end' of the pub is my favourite spot - with a huge old wood burner for the chillier months. The garden is also beautiful in the summer. Dog friendly too. I highly recommend the (very generous!) ploughmans.

Me and my wife visited this following a note in the guest book at the place we were stopping nearby and we were so very glad they mentioned it. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pub itself is lovely traditional country pub. The specials board had a range of different choices and their main menu has a lot... More

The pub was empty when we arrived at 1pm for lunch. That was not a good start, but undeterred we chose a crab salad and sole. The crab and sole were both very good, but the salads should have been put on the compost heap. We complained, nicely, about the poor quality of the salad we were served but were... More

The menu selection was not massive, but the food was good (although have had better). Beer apparently good. Reasonably priced. Beer garden is large, but was a bit chilly for us this evening as most of it was in the shade!

We had our lunch in a lovely secluded pub garden, plenty of room from the other tables to keep our pup tethered and a nice Huntsman and Beef pasty with chunky beef bits!

The Crown Inn was recommended to us by the owners of the holiday cottage we were staying in and we can now see why. There is a good size car park, nice outdoor seating area and an olde worlde pub. A friendly welcome awaits, good efficient service and the food, well it was delicious! We both ordered the Braised Lamb... More
